Post by TBone »

Advance the player to 1:22:15.

There's a couple of minutes of small talk at the beginning.

Kerber said he Blues don’t travel a reporter. Is this a lie? What about Jeremy Rutherford? And calling this a bad, poorly
-handled move is rich coming from this lame show that replaced Randy Karraker and company.

JR is employed by the Athletic. Why would the Blues pay for his travel. He’s not a Blues reporter, he just reports on the Blues.
The closest thing the Blues have is Strickland and he only does home games(apparently that’s changing with these dumb moves).

No offense but Randy Karraker was a Rams stoooge to the very end when we all could see the writing on the wall. On top of that he used to go out of his way to make fun of soccer when there is a large soccer community here. He had to do an about face once we got City so I don't miss his 80's Cardinal knowledge all that much.

I stopped caring about Randy's opinions when he openly cried about a football team.

Yep, rather hypocritical quite frankly.

That actually provided some good color on the situation. Thanks for posting. I still don’t like how it went down, how they dumped JK like that…but I can see the vision. And like that they’re sending a reporter to away games now and like the addition of Pronger. I think at least. We’ll see how good he actually is on the air. Above zero chance he comes off as a blowhard.

I like Kerber fine. Don’t agree with Kerbs’ assessment that Vitale is so talented he’s going to end up on national broadcasts someday. That’s great he was a sponge asking Panger questions for 5 years but I just don’t think Vitale is very good at it. I like the guy but he goes on too many tangents for my liking.

But I’ll give them a shot and we’ll just see how it goes.

Nothing personal about Kerbs for me but I still don't understand what happened here in choosing him over the guy Kerbs says will be in the HOF with his Dad someday.

W_T_F?

I still don't understand it....maybe part of the "new wave" at Fan Duel which will likely be around for a blink of the eye in time meanwhile they AND STILLMAN dumped the best ambassador and name brand for their team since Dan Kelly was alive. Sheer stupidity as well as classless.

For those that don't care wish I was you....this whole deal just pizzzzes me off.

Get used to it, I'm sure there's more to come. We're a midmarket team that has fans used to seeing it's team spend to the cap. Cap is going to 113.5 million in 2027. This is a business, and I'm sure JK makes real dollars, so did Pang. Joey, Jamie, Kerber are all under contract. JK's was up so that's the direction. Two less people (minimum) travelling and you lose an entire production staff. I'd imagine the savings are huge.

Add on top of what you said the financial difficulty Bally’s had (which cost us Pang) and FanDuel not exactly flush (plus the Blues not having the cheddar to cover them)
I still say this is a lot of pearl clutching over not much

Here's the thing, I feel for those that hate losing JK, especially those that despise Kerber. I know it has to suck. My only argument really has been, this is MUCH bigger than just JK's salary. Much bigger.

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, I liked JK, the same way I liked Shannon over on the baseball side, it’s cool to have a unique sounding announcer. JK did have the lineage that took me back to his father, but life goes on. I think Kerber will adjust now that he knows he’s doing tv as well as radio, so I’d advise to keep an open mind.
