I agree. The guy is going to be a fast movie player too. I worry about the mental side of Doyle. Chris carpenter was a dog on the mound, but he was a big “respect” guy. Doyle is cocky and immature. I think the talent is there, just needs to grow up. I would have rather had Arnold or JoJo. But, I trust Flores, and they seemed pretty excited about getting to pick one of Anderson, Doyle, or holiday.StlMike1969 wrote: ↑15 Jul 2025 04:34 am In some ways my disappointment will be losing out on Ike Irish. Also, jack leiter had a great fastball and was supposedly going to move quickly. But it takes more than a 100mph fastball to get big leaguers out. 75% of pitchers now days have high 90s heat. They are gonna time him up pretty easy if he doesn’t get some plus secondary in his arsenal. I think it takes him a few years before he’s ready. I really hope I’m wrong though. We need an ace so badly. This would be a perfect time to bring carp and Waino in to work with him.Jobafish wrote: ↑15 Jul 2025 05:32 amI agree. The guy is going to be a fast movie player too. Thanks for posting, fellas! Found reading this thread just fascinating. Your knowledge inre prospects and where and why they should be selected is really amazing. Y'all must be terrific fantasy baseball players. Myself, I just used to love the game and used to watch, or listen, and talk about it a lot. My question to all of you talking heads, if you don't mind, is about Doyle. As well as the chances of enlisting the services of Waino, or Carpenter or Molina, for that matter as pitching coach/traveling instructor/mentor for Doyle. First, how good do you think he can and WILL be? Second how soon will he make it up to the show? Third, how likely is it that we can entice any of those 3 former greats to help with his development and which would you prefer? Personally, I'd go with Molina, cuz he might potentially slide in as our next great manager and his fame and respect with Latinos. Next, I'd lean to Waino, cuz he's probably my favorite Cardinal I've seen and one I'd most like to have a beer with. And third, Carpenter, cuz although his expertise, intelligence and intensity are undeniable, I don't think I could ever get over the way he dressed down Brendan Ryan? on national TV. I mean, what was Ryan supposed to do, play short with a hole in his glove? I think he should have given it right back to Carpenter. He's lucky he didn't clock him.
I realize my data analysis and research cannot compare to any of yours, but I'd be interested in your opinions.
Looking forward to your responses. Hope you read this.

That's okay. You know crickets are supposed to be good luck in Japan. Sorry if I wasted your valuable time with my dumb questions. Won't happen again.
