At times, the NHL has been really scummy.

Consider the source. Garbage article, terrible idea. Very disrespectful of the League to insinuate they fixed a draft.

Here in St Louis, very few care about where the elite talent goes. They dream instead of the route for the Armstrong retirement parade. Armstrong is their Crosby, Gretzky, Ovechkin, and Musial all rolled into one.

You're in hiding and u hold your own meetings [with a pea sized brain lacking in basic logic skills]
I can hear u coming, I know what you're after [must denigrate DA]
We're wise to u this time [well, almost ALL the time]

Army has made a conscience decision to stay competitive, and he plays in a league that doesn't think and play that same way. As a result, the Blues are always picking later versus earlier in the draft.

There has never been a rational discussion on the ramifications of this Blues approach. Army has been deemed a Saint by BluesTalkers. As a result, evaluating anything is impossible. As a result of this the great fans of St Louis are being S_____ on IMO.

At a time when they are pushing at the door of joining the cup contenders you want them to tank?

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have had to say this.

I don't expect the Blues to "tank". Tanking is not possible.

I want the Blues to approach the draft and the season like every other team. That is all I'm asking. The Blues goal is to "stay competitive" every year till the golf carts fly. The goal of all other teams is to build a roster that can win a Stanley Cup.

1. So are you claiming that no other team in the league strives to stay competitive? If so, that's a completely outlandish and ridiculous premise. There is only one "perk" to being a complete dog [shirt] team and that's the opportunity to draft someone who is very talented, but still unproven and not guaranteed to make an impact, much less be a star. If you knew even the slightest bit about hockey at the NHL level you would know there are countless guys drafted in the top 5 who amounted to exactly squat. Nothing is ever guaranteed, no matter how many times you say it is or how much you want it to be.

2. Not one person on here, except you, has used the word "Saint" when discussing Doug Armstrong. Many of us, however, can evaluate the job he's done objectively and without overwhelming bias, and realize his overall record is pretty fricking good. Has he made mistakes? Of course he has, and so has EVERY single GM in the league. But I would put his track record up against just about any other GM during his tenure in the NHL.

3. Since Armstrong has been GM I've only encountered one person - you - who feels St. Louis fans are somehow being [shirt] on due to how he manages the team, roster, etc. As noted in point #2, every single GM makes mistakes, whether it's a draft pick, a free agent signing or a trade. Army's wins/successes far outweigh his mistakes.

I know you'll continue with your irrational posts about top draft picks, jerseys and Army bashing. In fact, I'm a little mad at myself for even typing all this out because I know it won't do one bit of good. You're locked in with your hate and no amount of reasoning will bring you back. And that's OK, this world is made up of all kinds. I, for one, will continue to thoroughly enjoy Blues hockey, no matter who plays for the team and no matter who is announcing the games.

Just 3 questions for you:

1. You know what team has the winningest record of all NHL teams in March and April for the last 10 years?

Answer: The Saint Louis Blues

This would make sense except we won the Stanley Cup only 1 of those years. The reason is that the Blues "stay competitive" till the golf carts fly.

2. You know which team lost the last 7 of 10 games of the 2024 regular season?

Answer: The Florida Panthers (AKA the dynasty)

March and April is Army's "Killing Season". They hit everything while other teams know that the season is over.

3. You know how exciting it is for a city to have TOP 5 picks?

Answer: It's very exciting.

Did you know that all kids in St Louis born after 2008 have never come close to even thinking about a high draft pick? Why? Because the Blues are not building a roster; they are stashing the cash register.

The 2nd best situation for sales of my product is when the competition is bankrupt of ideas. Consumers know why a company goes bankrupt.

1. Great
2. Great
3. Few people give a [fork] because it means you sucked (donkey) the year before.

Your last comment makes zero sense. The Blues, like every team in the league, strive to win the Cup every year. You may not agree with how they do it, but that doesn't make it not true. News flash: Only one team can win the Cup each year. I guess every other team who doesn't is just "stashing the cash register"? You should stop, you sound stupid.
