If he's not better than Mathews, we're in trouble.

yeah he was..... batted .422

he was their power guy...17 HR, 71 RBI..
these APSU guys don't always translate well to ProBall....Gazdar can hit, but not for power with Peoria....definitely can hit.
Nickens might be a steal of a pick

I think he had solid years except his last year at Houston. Was solid too at summer league ball. APSU def different than Houston comp, but maybe it clicked too - Maybe he added some muscle or maybe experience, etc... His soph year at Houston, hit 310 and his freshman, hit near .300. Hopefully, his last year at Houston was an outlier.craviduce wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 17:21 pmhttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/camer ... osition=OF not sure what to think of this guy....3 years of MEH ball with Houston, then he comes out of no where with APSU

i'm intrigued, we'll see how he does. I think the hit tool will be real...I'm praying the power is too. Going from Big 12 play to the Atlantic Sun is Night and DayOthawhitemeat wrote: ↑14 Jul 2025 17:32 pmI think he had solid years except his last year at Houston. Was solid too at summer league ball. Cardinals, with their 19th pick, select ~ Liam Best, Appalachian St., RHP, 6'2"

two Liams in one draft.
what are the chances?
should have waited til 20th pick.
then we could have had Liam bookends.

BA report on the Cardinals 16th round Gigantor
Full name
Alex Breckheimer
Born
09/12/2003 in
Profile
Ht.: 6'5" / Wt.: 270 / Bats: R / Throws: R
Ranked #454 prospect in 2025 draft
School: Kansas Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.8
Breckheimer is a 6-foot-5, 270-pound righthander who spent two years at Bryant & Stratton College in Wisconsin before heading to Kansas for his junior season in 2025. He’s an extra-large righthander reliever with an unwieldy and effortful delivery that looks out of control, though he managed a strong 6.9% walk rate as a junior. Breckheimer has a high-usage, swing-and-miss fastball that he throws about 70% of the time. His 93-94 mph fastball tops out at 98 mph and generated an impressive 30% miss rate. He pairs the heater with a mid-80s slider. Breckheimer has also mixed in a mid-80s changeup and an upper-70s curveball, but overwhelmingly pitches off the fastball/slider combo.
