Harry's brother taken out of Wichita State.... Nick Potter should be a good pitcher for Houston...eventually. Side note ~ he's sick on a Broom. Chaser build.

Could be a stupid question, but how is Jack Bauer still on the board? He de-committed from UVA and while I'm guessing he could have his pick of college programs, wouldn't a team figure it has a decent shot to lure him away to the pros?

Seriously, they all use aluminum bats. So if one guy hits 6 HRs and another guy hits 20 HRs (in roughly the same number of PAs), why isn't that a comparison as far as power potential?

I think he followed UVA's old coach to Mississippi State? Not sure.

I think he had extremely high Bonus Demands to forego college

https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/2025/all/round/5

Addendum: you'll need to click the "round" tab at the end of each round and update it to the corresponding, new round. I don't believe it auto-adjusts to the current round.
thanks VV

that 1.000 OPS usually equates to .700 or lower OPS with a wood bat. I'd rather know a players numbers in Summer League....CC, Michigan, NWleague...I don't care....anything over an aluminum bat. What is his chase rate in the zone and out? What's his K rate? Those transcend bats, those are tendencies.

Bauer is rated #44 by MLB. There must be some issue there.

Aren't some of those teachable, whereas raw power isn't?

BA report
Full name Ethan Young
Born 02/03/2004 in
Profile Ht.: 6'2" / Wt.: 220 / Bats: R / Throws: R

Ranked #355 prospect in 2025 draft
School: East Carolina Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.5

Young pitched two seasons at junior college before heading to East Carolina in 2025. Listed at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Young has a power arsenal and pitched as a multi-inning reliever for ECU. He posted a 3.84 ERA over 70.1 innings with a 30.4% strikeout rate and 11.2% walk rate. Young averages 95 mph on his fastball and has been up to 99, but he gets the majority of his whiffs with a strong complement of secondaries. His mid-80s slider is a potential above-average offering with two-plane bite and is his most frequently-used secondary. He also has found success with a fringy mid-80s changeup and a downer curveball in the upper 70s. Young’s strikes are below-average, especially with his secondaries, but some teams might look at his deep arsenal and wonder if he can crack it in a starting role.
