Drafting pitchers too volatile, injury risk is sooooooooo high.
Take the best RHHer w/that high a draft pick.

Let me try to give you a sincere comment. I know it’s done but in today’s world I don’t understand using early picks on high school kids. I get the talent and the potential but the way the college game and college programs have evolved, it just seems to me you get a much better picture of a player that has played against talented competition in college.Shady wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 12:05 pm The Cardinals need to take him. The top high school pitcher in the nation. Some say the top talent in the draft. He has absolute ace potential. How many chances will the Cardinals get to obtain the top high school pitcher in the country? We've seen the importance of having a true ace in the rotation. Could Hernandez evolve into another Skenes-type? Very possibly.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Cardinals go with a more advanced, safer, collegiate prospect like Arnold over talented high school prospects like Hernandez or Willits. However, they may gamble on Holliday is he slides to #5. Actually, Arnold was considered the #1 pick in the draft by some earlier in the process.Jatalk wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 14:50 pmLet me try to give you a sincere comment. I wouldn't touch Hernandez and I'd be shocked if Mozeliak would.
I'd like Arquette or JoJo Parker. If it's a pitcher, I like Arnold over both Anderson and Doyle.

I'd be OK with Arnold. It would be a solid choice. It could happen. An Old Friend wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 17:26 pmI wouldn't touch Hernandez and I'd be shocked if Mozeliak would.

The Cardinals don't know how to coach talent (YET). Rob Cerofolio is making changes, but there is still a bunch of damage done.
Re: If Seth Hernandez is available at #5 for the Cardinals
I just saw Seth Hernandez as the second highest rated player in the draft behind Anderson at #1. Does Hernandez have too much potential for the Cardinals to pass up if he slides to their pick at #5.
I tried to post the link. But it must be a pay site.

Law and McDaniel both have Cardinals taking Willits.Shady wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 17:41 pmI'd be OK with Arnold. It would be a solid choice. It could happen. An Old Friend wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 17:26 pmI wouldn't touch Hernandez and I'd be shocked if Mozeliak would.
