If Seth Hernandez is available at #5 for the Cardinals
The Cardinals need to take him. The top high school pitcher in the nation. Some say the top talent in the draft. He has absolute ace potential. How many chances will the Cardinals get to obtain the top high school pitcher in the country? We've seen the importance of having a true ace in the rotation. Could Hernandez evolve into another Skenes-type? Very possibly.

Re: If Seth Hernandez is available
Skenes took 3 months to get to the Majors.
The most successful RHP out of HS, who was drafted Top 10 in the draft, took 4 years to get to the majors...that's over the last 30 years. The next most successful took 5 1/2 seasons. The 3rd guy took 7 years. Only 3 have been successful.
So...No
I believe in Hernandez, I've seen him pitch a lot...He's going to be really good. But nothing about him says "Skenes".

But why? We already have Roby who should win CYA every year. Why would we want an inferior runner-up?Shady wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 12:05 pm The Cardinals need to take him. A "consistently dominant starting pitcher" is a "Skenes-type".craviduce wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 12:28 pmhe never said "Skenes"Shady wrote: ↑12 Jul 2025 12:21 pm A brief clip on Seth Hernandez. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6n4k8RCQgB4

what if he's not? Do you have a differen't "____-type?"
and don't say "Vida Blue-type". You've used that comp way too much over the years.

If Burly is better than Roby, and Roby is better than Sagesse, and Sagesse is better than Burly…who will win MVP?

Was that a chirp I just heard? Lol! You think you’re taunting, but really just responding and only pretending to ignore. What will you do about that conundrum? Starting to think you have bigger issues than just an extremely low baseball IQ
