Little background. I've been here since the Blues game one, so I'm older, yes. I was also taught NHL Blues hockey by Dan Kelly. If you weren't around then, you just didn't happen to be one of us lucky ones. But obviously that is just my opinion. This part isn't. I don't mind if anyone feels differently than I do. It's all cool with me. I liked John Kelly. I liked Panger. I was OK with the broadcasting before this change. As a matter of fact, I'll be checking and listening everywhere logical to see if John Kelly will be broadcasting anywhere else. I won't miss one minute of Blues hockey in the process, I'll see and hear it all. If anyone or everyone here at the Asylum chooses differently, it won't upset me in the least. We are St. Louis Blues die-hard fans. We are all together in that. (Obviously I'm not talking about those idiots who troll and try to pretend to get in the way).
Thank you very much. LGB.
Well said, BD!
I missed out on Dan, but had several years with Ken. I actually met him and Bernie at a Coyotes game one time, really nice guy.
But now, I can’t imagine Blues hockey without John. He and Panger during the ‘19 run especially were just magic. And to be honest, I can’t even remember Ken’s voice doing games anymore. Just a hard pill to swallow right now.
That said, I love Kerbs and Joey on the radio. I think Kerbs does a great job with the play by play and he is obviously a huge Blues fan. I’m skeptical how that will translate to TV.
I’m okay with Strick hosting the show, I think that is more in his wheelhouse than ringside reporting and interviews. But losing Alexa is a shame. She is so knowledgeable and energetic, she actually made the pre, in game and post show fun.
Overall, I’m not excited about these changes, but at the end of the day, we still get Blues hockey some I’m not gonna complain! LGB!!!
