Exactly. One of the cards managers tried to say Oli doesn’t trust fedde so was saving bullpen for that game but that makes zero sense. Fedde might have a game like MM did his last start or the braves starter could come out dealing and it doesn’t matter. It was very obvious the braves starter was going to get lit up it was just a matter of time so he should have had a quick hook in this gameicon wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 23:31 pmHe did not manage to win tonight. I think it depends on the moves depends on the braves pitcher if he was pitching had good stuff maybe you leave him in there and try to get another inning or two out of him. But the braves pitcher was very obviously in trouble I even said it in the game thread before cards came back the good news is their pitcher doesn’t have it and the cards could throw some runs up on him. All of you like to rant about how every Cards manager overuses his bullpen, but my god, you guys would pull every single pitcher immediately at any sign of trouble and completely burn out your bullpen in the first month of the season.
You can't pull a starter in the 3rd inning unless he's giving up double digit runs. You will burn out your entire bullpen for the remainder of the series trying to cover 8 innings in 1 game.

Exactly. But he knows Fedde probably won't get out of the 2nd inning tomorrow. And Gray will probably be out after 5 on Sunday. That's the only thing I can figure. If that's correct, then Mo screwed him by insisting on Fedde.icon wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 23:31 pmHe did not manage to win tonight. Same for Noot.
It’s pathetic how basic fundamentals have eroded over the last two decades.

To add frustration to the Murphy HR - Horton could not get the call right on radio - called it off the wall.
