Re: 50th win
That's a 109-110 win pace. The Cardinals have never won that many games in a season.
Re: 50th win
Right and we didn’t, we won 100 games, although part of the reason it was “only” 100 games is a bad September. Went 15-16 in September/October, including 3-6 over the last 9.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:28 amThat's a 109-110 win pace. The Cardinals have never won that many games in a season.

The 2022 Dodgers won 111 games and didn't win the WS or even reach the WS. Baseball is funny like that.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:34 amYea I thought that to be a lot. Re: 50th win
They didn’t even win one playoff series, lost in 4 games to an 89 win Padres team.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:45 amThe 2022 Dodgers won 111 games and didn't win the WS or even reach the WS. Almost as bad as being swept in the 04 WS without ever leading a single inning in the four games.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:50 amThey didn’t even win one playoff series, lost in 4 games to an 89 win Padres team.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:45 amThe 2022 Dodgers won 111 games and didn't win the WS or even reach the WS. MLB has bastardized the playoffs….
It is now designed to name a champion, not to identify the best team….

Re: 50th win
I agree but expanded playoffs are good for the bottom line. So the owners go for that. Just like snuggling up to gambling which might ruin baseball a century after the Black Sox.45s wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 11:00 amwell..”funny” is one word for it…Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:45 amThe 2022 Dodgers won 111 games and didn't win the WS or even reach the WS. Losing in the first round (for your team) is better than winning the pennant?sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:53 amAlmost as bad as being swept in the 04 WS without ever leading a single inning in the four games.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:50 amThey didn’t even win one playoff series, lost in 4 games to an 89 win Padres team.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑11 Jul 2025 10:45 amThe 2022 Dodgers won 111 games and didn't win the WS or even reach the WS. I went to every home game in the 2004 playoffs other than game 4 of the WS. Games six and seven of the NLCS are two of the best games I've ever been to, they would have never happened if we lost 3-1 to the Dodgers in the first round. The ending of 2004 sucked, really really sucked, but that season and post-season was awesome up until that point (probably even up until game 2 or 3 of the WS).
