Re: I feel for Oli
It would get him fired so that’s a plus. I don’t feel sorry for oli he’s the one who kept the rotation as is and made sure the cards best starting didn’t pitch in either series while the worst starting pitchers did
Re: I feel for Oli
Unless Bloom agreed before accepting his 5 yr deal that Oli would be kept for his final year of 2026, Oli gets his pay if Bloom releases him .
So he will still be OK.
Guess we have to wait several months to see what Bloom has in store for Oli .

Re: I feel for Oli
Why feel sorry for him. He has gotten to spend several years managing a big league team. All he had to do is follow the instructions of his benefactor. Unqualified little weasel, but got plucked from a dung pile by Johnny MO. He owes him big time.
Re: I feel for Oli
How was Oli supposed to change that? MO makes the roster moves, so McGreevy was not an option. He is stuck with the 5 he has. He rearranged the rotation to get an extra start in for Gray. That makes the most sense. We can blame MO and the DeWitt's for not eating one of the Mikolas or Fedde contracts and promoting McGreevy. That is not on Oli.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2025 16:40 pmIt would get him fired so that’s a plus. Re: I feel for Oli
He's 39 and his baseball career might be over soon. That's a little sad for the guy.
Re: I feel for Oli
You guys are hilarious. You think Oli Marmol has a job because of some perceived insecurity on Mo’s part. The reality is Marmol is pretty much the industry standard. Today’s MLB manager is expected to implement the collaborative decisions made by a group including the GM, the analytics department, the medical team, and the coaching staff and then face the media on a daily basis without complaint. Don’t expect any different from Bloom. The days of Whitey and TLR are long gone. Stop dreaming of Yadi or Albert managing the team. It’s not going to happen.
Re: I feel for Oli
Oli will be replaced but probably with an Oli 2.0. As you described managers with a true feel for the game are vanishing.Red7 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2025 17:44 pm You guys are hilarious. You are partially correct. Most managers today do follow the collaborative plan. But they also insert more sway than this pud does. And they lead the clubhouse. This pud cant.Red7 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2025 17:44 pm You guys are hilarious. You think Oli Marmol has a job because of some perceived insecurity on Mo’s part. Poach from the Brewers staff by offering them promotions. Coaches and scouts.
Re: I feel for Oli
This pud has this team 5 games over .500. Think about that. THIS team.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑10 Jul 2025 18:42 pmYou are partially correct. Most managers today do follow the collaborative plan. But you (correctly) stated that he just follows the collective plan. So does he really have them anywhere?Red7 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2025 19:01 pmThis pud has this team 5 games over .500. Think about that. Re: I feel for Oli
Any manager worth their weight would have some pull and not put up with this. Tony La Russa would be jn Mo's office everyday until something was done. Oli? No shot!...unless he's delivering the morning coffee.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2025 17:16 pmHow was Oli supposed to change that? MO makes the roster moves, so McGreevy was not an option.
