+1. Suter and Bjudstad are nothing burgers.
This is either a really dumb troll job, or you don’t actually watch much hockey. Which of these guys do you want to be?
+1 to which guy are you?
Wild stuff. Bjudstad was a, just in case Suter fell through, signing. He is a nothing burger (big, but not physical, and slow). Suter was on a real sh#tty (dysfunctional) team and somebody had to get the points (with the quality ice time he got). He's on his 4th team in five yrs and will be back to his 30pts yrs here. Vancouver was thinking $2.5- 3m for the guy and aren't crying about losing him. And I'm not a fan of the trade. Some have Mailloux as the next Pronger; he was their 6th rated prospect and is known for the brainfarts on D (but hey, he's big). I just don't see us much better than last yr; when everyone was guishing over the Joseph's and Texier.

Again JMO

And if he's dum dum enough to move out Jake for Bryam that would be a cherry on top (in a bad way).

....and now we're strong down the middle.
I see Suter as a 3C/RW who can play up when needed. Schenn is 50 point guy -- until he isn't. Suter offsets the offense they got from Bolduc last season and he's more versatile as a C/PK. Bolduc clearly has more offensive upside.

It would be interesting to see a Kaskimaki/Stenberg-Dvorsky-Charbonneau line in Springfield. Interesting, not necessary. At some point, if not right out of camp, the Blues will be begging for more offense on wing. Dvorsky would seem to have the inside track.

You have Tex, Joseph, Sunny, Walker, Toro, Bjugstad. That's already 6 guys for 4 spots plus the healthy scratch spots.

Yes I get we can easily solve that problem with waivers or whatever but it just feels like a big hill for him to climb.

Maybe we move a fringe vet F for a fringe vet D to balance things out a bit.
If Suter is 3C, I think it makes a ton of sense for Dvorsky to start the season on the wing. He's an all star at the AHL level, so I question how much more he can really do in the AHL. Plus, Suter is no stud in the faceoff dot - the Blues could have Dvorsky take some faceoffs and then move back to the wing position after the draw. It eases him into the center position and he gets exposure to a center who plays a 200 foot game.

I'd be curious if the Blues are entertaining that as an idea.
I think the concern with Dvorsky is lack of defense. He has been a minus player most of his career and in the Slovak league had the lowest +/- on the team. I think he needs to stay in Springfield until he understand that part of the game.
That's good insight - I didn't know that.

Army seemed to indicate on 101 that if Carbonneau came to camp he'd have a shot to earn a spot. Still unsure of Dvorsky we'll have to wait and see ultimately who's ready and who's not and what happens to Texier and Joseph. My guess is they would keep Joseph and see which kid is ready

All young players need to work on their defensive game, especially at the nhl level. But it’s not accurate to say that a lack of defense has always been an issue for him. He’s been known as a defensively sound, 2 way player for basically his whole career up to this point.

He was new kid on the Springfield team. If he goes back down I would expect to see something different from him, more confidence up and down the ice and driving play.

Theoretically here, the Blues could put a line together in Springfield that beats down the door to the NHL by February, as a unit.

Suter and Bjudstad were Army's 2nd or 3rd option or 4th option at the position. :(

Army dressed the Barbie, but don't wait by the phone for a call from Stanley Cup.

If Justin Carbonneau can claim a spot that's a nice forward group sign me up on that
I can't think of any reason to have Carbonneau on the team and Dvorsky not.
If Carbonneau is heading back to the Q, no harm in giving him the 9 game trial and then bringing Dvorsky in when he goes back to juniors.

Thats where i am at with at after watching some of his highlights in juniors and hearing friends who went to the prospects camp. Makes sense to me and i still wont know where i am on Dvorsky till Blues camp. My hope is DD blows everyone away and is the 3rd C right away maybe he and JC force roster changes

Could make a huge difference at the end of the season in tight races. I'm going best players from opening night.
