MLB average BA is .240. Both Noot and Gorman aren't much different than a majority of major leaguers.
The trouble is, Gorman was supposed to be much much better than average as a top prospect. And he's not.
He has 210 PA's this year - which is about 1/3 of a season.
He is on pace for a full season rate of 24 HR, 81 RBI, 81 runs scored, and 51 XBH's.
He is a LH hitting 2b who can also play 3b.
That is MUCH better than "average".
Every team in MLB would be thrilled with that.
On pace is a laugh. Come on, get out of here with that stuff. It ain't going to happen. He's not getting 630 PAs.
PA's are controlled by the front office.
He won't get 630 PA's this year - but that that his doing.
Data says STL should have kept their original commitment to get him 600+ PA's.
In fairness Gorman wasn't very good for awhile. Now he is. Just keep him out there every day than see what it looks like at the end of the year. Make your evaluations than.

Maybe that's why baseball is falling and not watching, because we praise a .220 hitter.
