I definitely think Mikolas needs to be taken out of the rotation and replaced by Mcgreevy.
Mcgreevy has been looking great. His last two starts for the cards have been on 4 days rest.
He has been on at least 5 days rest for most, if not all, his Memphis starts.
Think that might have hurt his STL starts.
Taylor is an interesting case. He was in Independent and Mexican leagues the last 2 years.
Cards must have seen something that made them sign him and decide to put him on AAA roster.
Other than Mcgreevy he has been best Memphis starter this year.
He will be 30 years old in late July.
If roster spots open up, a couple of Stl starts should give us a clue as to see whether to DFA him.
Don't think the DFA would find any suiters and he would still be in Memphis.
If he is a positive surprise, 3 to 5 years could help us until some of the prospects are ready.
I'm hoping Mathews and Roby might progress this year to September roster.
I'm not expecting Cards to stay in the chase this year and trade deadline will open up some roster spots.
Hope Gray, Arenado and Helsley are great leading up to the trade deadline and we can get good trade returns.
Wouldn't mind Contreras going also. Need Herrera at 1B in future.
Last few starts Roby. Mathews. Hence. Taylor. Mcgreevy

Why would anyone be defensive over a poster with such a low baseball IQ like yourself, Chief?Shady wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 17:17 pmDon't be concerned about me, Chief. You simply aren't in my league regarding Cardinals baseball. Not many are. That's why the whiners, like you, are so defensive.Cusecards wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 13:58 pmLOL I feel your frustration as do the rest of us!3dender wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 13:47 pmHow about S[top] T[hose] F[raudulent] U[tterances]... he skipped a word who gaf.Shady wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 12:58 pm"He's had a really season", What the heck? Roby's fastball location is hit or miss, you want him on the edges, and he's missing heart of the plate and up, and those pitches are being crushed. He had 2 balls smacked hard last night and one of them was helped by 15 foot wall in LCF. It was a HR in almost every MLB park, but he got away with an off the top of the wall double. He's had a really season, he's well over his innings mark the last 2 seasons, so I can't imagine him starting games in the MLB as the season moves along. Targeting 100 total innings for him, which is more than double last year.
Mathews is inconsistent with the Fastball location, which sets up his bottom dropping change up.
Hence isn't physically ready.
Taylor is doing really well in Memphis, maybe the MLB team can use him...but that would be a White Flag surrender move. He doesn't strike out many and relies on his defense to back him up.
I'll take that every single post from someone who regularly contributes, unlike someone like you who contributes nothing except spam.
But the BEST part of his post is the OP is about starting pitchers and yet he SOMEHOW found the need to insert BURLESON into the conversation???
Mentally challenged and hopefully he gets the needed help?

You’re 100% correct. I’m not in your league.Shady wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 17:17 pmDon't be concerned about me, Chief. You simply aren't in my league regarding Cardinals baseball. Not many are. Re: Last few starts Roby. Mathews. Hence. Taylor. Mcgreevy
As of today July 25th, leading up to trade deadline,
I still would like to see Curtis Taylor added to the roster and given two or three starts.
Curtis just turned 30 today. He threw a 2 hit 7 inning shutout yesterday the 24th.
I looked at his 15 starts this year.
Three were bad. Think we could live with someone who only throws a clunker once in 5 starts.
His ERA for the 15 was 3.07. The other 12 had an ERA of 1.43.
