And I could see the Cards putting together a package for a trade.
For me....I’m actually more concerned about the rotation moving forward?
Gray- solid arm
Libby- fingers crossed that he has arrived?
Pallante- I think he provides a solid #5?
After that obviously McGreevy gets his chance.
Fingers crossed with him.
They do have some interesting arms in the minors who could arrive in 2026.
Question? Will they swing a package deal for a starter???
Mo must come away with a really good power hitting prospect

Trade chips. Would either or both Gorman or Walker get much of a return at the trade deadline? Nootbaar probably would.

You want a power hitting prospect for a free agent to be closer?
Not happening.
For that power hitting prospect you'd have to start w/J.J.W. and Q. M., no way you want to make that deal.
Draft& Develop is their only shot since BDWJr will never, ever win a bidding ware for one.

I'm hoping some team needing a closer overpays for Helsley. Possibly, remembering last season's version.
Re: Mo must come away with a really good power hitting prospect
same guy said we'd get 2 Front of the rotation starters for Carlson in 2023, and 2 Front of the rotation starters for Nado in 2024. And same with Goldy. Then he said we could get all of the Yankees top pitching prospects, which don't exist, this offseason by trading Nado. Or we could trade Nado to the Red Sox for 2 of their top 5 prospects...including Bleis, whose name he butchered 3 times.rockondlouie wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 12:24 pm You want a power hitting prospect for a free agent to be closer?

We need to ignore him.

How in the hell am I "cornered"? "We need to ignore him". You don't seem to be able to accomplish that yourself. Set the example. And you need to be in daycare. You have a Middle School jealousy, bullying mentality. You seem obsessed with Shady history. A guru shouldn't have to bother with such tactics. Just stick to reporting.craviduce wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 12:41 pmsame guy said we'd get 2 Front of the rotation starters for Carlson in 2023, and 2 Front of the rotation starters for Nado in 2024. I wouldn't trust (bleep) Mo to mow my yard, let alone nail a draft.

Re: Mo must come away with a really good power hitting prospect
He technically could get a power only prospect. Someone that is a future 25 HR DH only that plays horrible defense and is in AA. However with Wetherholt at 2B next year and Donnie in the OF they have Burley Hererra Gorman and maybe Walker all at DH
Re: Mo must come away with a really good power hitting prospect
I'd gamble on Robert making a comeback and being the RH power hitter needed in the outfield. Plus he could play CF. Scott hasn't shown the consistency needed as a hitter. Too many strikeouts. If Contreras is still around at 1B. Donovan LF, Robert CF and Burleson RF works for me. Herrera DH, Wetherholt 2B and Gorman or Saggese 3B.Youboughtit wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 13:06 pmHe technically could get a power only prospect. Time to get those $1 tacos. Thank goodness we scored 8 runs.

I'd say it's unlikely but we did get Saggesse in a late July deal. I suppose it could happen but "really good power hitting prospects" are a rare commodity.
Would probably have to sweeten the pot with more than a 2 month rental.
