I still say Army is the best GM we have had in this city in quite a while...
Even when moves don't pan out, he can pivot like no one else in this town and make something work even with salary cap restraints, etc.
WJ had some old school flair but no salary cap.
...and MO just looks like a fool comparatively. There have been many contributing factors to the Cardinals' downfall. Whether it be cost-cutting measures following COVID, firing "successful" coaches/managers and shrinking coaching staffs, investing financially in the major-league team rather than player development, or falling behind other organizations technologically, the Cardinals' fall from grace has been slow and steady.

I feel better about Army now than I did when he was listening to Hitch. Hitchcock was so overrated by the hockey brass and media.

Bernie has it all wrong.

The Blues are a great franchise, because of their fans.

With the fans, the TEAM IS FAMILY, and there is nothing that the GM/Owner could do that would change that.

I'm not saying that the GM and Owner are bad. They are average IMO. My point is that what make the Blues so beloved is 100% the fans.

Smellie needs to move to a new team where there will be no downers. Ignorant way to live, glad my glass is half full.

I do not think that many people from St. Louis or who lived through the "Where the hell is Saskatoon" scare and the team essentially being abandoned and missing an entire draft class in 1983 would call this ownership group average. Then the saviour Harry Ornest essentially trades Mike Liuts Mike Liut for Greg Millen and Mike Johnson while in first place for financial reasons, but Stillman is average. Ok ::crazya::

How the heck is Stillman "average" ????
The team won a Cup with him as owner, they spend to the Cap (unlike many teams).
They have a management core that "walks the walk"...and does exactly what they say they are going to do.

Not every deal or signing works out... for anyone!
But Stillman has always supported this team with $$$$ and vision. They pivot when something doesn't work out while maintaining a consistent direction and battle plan...something the Cardinals should learn.
He even paid for two coaches when Monty became available...

I just don't see validity in complaining about Blues ownership...
