That might have something to do with him being a rookie and being 19 years old. Thomas having an injured wrist might have something to do with it as well. What wings should have sat in his place? Thomas was 19 and Bolduc is 2 years older….theograce wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 15:10 pmIt’s clear Berube didn’t trust Thomas during the Cup run. Bolduc was last in minutes and had PP time…..Thomas hardly played special teams at all, if any, his first full season.
Two different players. I get it, you hate the trade. Not surprised, but It’s no big deal. Your opinion.

You pretending to know about how much someone trusts someone without acknowledging variables is a laugher.
The Habs didn’t trust Mally all year right? His warts must be bigger right?

My opinion is quality RD is this league are very rare. Young, cost controlled RD men don’t come cheap. Do you really think that Bolduc was going to fetch a stud NHL All Star DMan?
Bolduc was an RFA next season….they need to pay for Holloway and Broberg, their depth was on the wing…..
What would you have done? Nothing and then pay Bolduc 4-6 million after this season?
Again, it’s your opinion…we just differ on it.

You infer I think Bolduc returns a Makar? What are you even on about?
This was about you saying you know about trust…acting like Bolduc is on a level playing field with long standing veterans with experience. And that you can tell he has warts because of ice time. This is normal development.
Again, it would be like me saying Mally obviously has much bigger warts because he couldn’t even crack their team. Is that fair?

You infer I think Bolduc returns a Makar? What are you even on about? Never inferred that, I was stating my point that you have to give something of value to get something. Bolduc was not fetching a current All Star.
This was about you saying you know about trust…acting like Bolduc is on a level playing field with long standing veterans with experience. And that you can tell he has warts because of ice time. This is normal development.
JR on numerous occasions has said that Bolduc has improved since his rookie year, but Monty saw major opportunities for him to improve his defensive game. I never said he wouldn’t improve, but people on here are assuming that Bolduc is a given superstar in the next year….I disagree.
Again, it would be like me saying Mally obviously has much bigger warts because he couldn’t even crack their team. Is that fair?
People on this board have differing opinions all the time. Some change their tune just to troll. I remember some clown posting Kyrou photos all the time and worshipping his tongue. I think the nutbag actually referred to him as the tongue. That same clown has changed his tune and rips him and his game.
When is Adin Hill starting for team Canada? Did I miss it?

If he's right and the Blues got a younger Bouchard, they fleeced the Habs. Will come with some growing pains, but would be great.
1. It will be 2-3 years before Mailloux is hitting his prime - his Bouchard value. By that time, I believe Bolduc will be the far better player between himself and Kyrou.
2. Agreed that Kyrou for Mailloux is not a good trade either, but there were other options, including getting a slightly bigger package back from MTL for Kyrou OR dipping into your AHL talent waiting in the wings (e.g. Stenberg, etc.).
Fact is Snuggerud and Kyrou are the Blues top 6 RW, Buch, Holloway and Neighbours on the other side this made Bolduc expendable. I for one am glad it was Bolduc and not Stenberg. Stenbergs international and AHL production are better than Bolducs at this early stage
Beyond just watching them, let's do a comparison of players...
First NHL Experience
J.Kyrou - age 22 | 28 gp | 4 g | 9 pts | +1
Z.Bolduc - age 21 | 25 gp | 5 g | 9 pts | +0
First "Full" Season
J.Kyrou - age 24 | 74 gp | 27 g | 75 pts | +10 *playing w/ R.Thomas and P.Buchnevich
Z.Bolduc - age 22 | 72 gp | 19 g | 36 pts | +20 *playing w/ O.Sundqvist and M.Joseph
Age 22 Seasons in NHL
Player A - age 22 | 28 gp | 4 g | 9 pts | +1
Player B - age 22 | 72 gp | 19 g | 36 pts | +20
J.Kryou
- Was drafted in the 2nd round, 35th overall
Is 27 years old
Plays a notoriously soft game
Arguably has had a hand in a carousel of coaching changes
His full rookie season numbers were supported by playing with R.Thomas and P.Buchnevich
- Was drafted in the 1st round, 17th overall
Is 22 years old
Drafted higher than T.Thompson, J.Kyrou, R.Thomas, J.Neighbors, J.Snuggerud, O.Stenberg, T.Lindstein and J.Carbonneau
Plays a 2-way, physical game
His full rookie season numbers supported by playing with O.Sundqvist and M.Joseph
