At least we're getting bigger?
Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
Ouch the day keeps getting worse. This means we are losing Faksa

Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
If we can go $1.75 for Bjug, we can go $2 for Faksa. $3 is too much, though, I agree.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:46 pmHe is likely looking for 2-3 million on a multi-year deal.
That's out of our range.

Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
Good center signing I thought he may have been an option 30-40 pt potentially I'd be fine with Bjugstad and Sunny on the bottom 6 while Dvorsky is on the horizon. Big tough centers down the middle he could have really helped vs the Jets

I'm guessing 2, odds are it was minimum 2.5-3sdaltons wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:49 pmIf we can go $1.75 for Bjug, we can go $2 for Faksa. $3 is too much, though, I agree.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:46 pmHe is likely looking for 2-3 million on a multi-year deal.

He wreaks of the Kevin Hayes experiment. Big, slow, non-physical, lumbering 30-point center. Not a fan. Would honestly rather have Alexandrov get another shot over this guy and that’s saying a lot.Frank Barone wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:44 pm He is a short term placeholder for Dvorsky. Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
Ok?
I’m going to assume a Faksa replacement here. I suppose his 19 pts is marginally better than Faksa’s 15 pts but he’s not a good defensively or in the faceoff circle. Would’ve preferred to keep Faksa tbh.
Or just let Sunny be the 4C.
Maybe it’ll make more sense in a day or two when the dust settles, idk.

I do agree about Alexandrov. I know everyone says he hasn’t done anything in the NHL, but he’s also been put in 4th line roles mainly. We saw what Schenn’s production was without Holloway last year and it was far from ideal. Let the guy play with better talent at least and see what happens? Can it be worse than Sunny?BluesDom wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:43 pmHopefully there is not more coming. Id like for us to be done. We can really screw this up.2forDiving wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:35 pm Not sure I get this move other than he his 6’5” and RH. Not good on FOs, and not even sure he is an upgrade to Sunny. I assume this means Faksa is gone. There needs to be more than this coming at forward for the current roster.
We have the prospects. Lets see what they can do. Stay away from free agency, etc.
We need roster space--Roster flexibility.
Alexandrov was qualified. If he signs---he can play in the NHL right now. He deserves a shot.
Bjustad is a good signing.
Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
He was the glue that made our 4th line one of the best in the league. Faksa is the definition of a player you look beyond the goals/assists for his value.

Steen thought Bjugstad was a Swed.WilliamWestcliffe wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:39 pm Apparently Berglund was busy.
God I hope these aren’t Steens picks and a sign of what’s to come.
IMO Ugly start to free agent frenzy.

To answer your hypothetical question, yes it could be.2forDiving wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:52 pmI do agree about Alexandrov. Blues appear to be keeping their eye on the ball, they have prospects they need to work in without over-committing to them. So, right now they have Sunny, Bjugstad, Alexandrov, Dvorsky, Peterson to cover two center spots and backfill top-6. Two or three can slide to 4th line wing. Those vets are guys you can park in the press box when needed.
Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
I don't mind it. It's cheap and short. Maybe he'll be a 3rd liner for a year, but if Faksa doesn't sign, I sure hope there is a 3rd line center somewhere.
I think Dvorsky is going to replace Bolduc on wing...or have a good shot to. It'll get him up to speed for the NHL.

He has the potential to score more, as he has done so in the past, but a 2 year deal at that price tells you what he thinks of himself and who he is.

Re: Nick Bjugstad signed
Don't disagree, but Kevin Hayes was on a much bigger contract. Dvorsky could be at 2C or 3C by midseason. At that point, Bjugstad might be the 13th/14th forward. I think Alexandrov will have a depth role on the NHL team, not in the minors.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:51 pmHe wreaks of the Kevin Hayes experiment.
