Sooner or later he’ll beat us. Timing is everything, and it never seems like a good time to face a league Ace.
I also expect him to be extra amped up. Last time the cardinals beat him there was an article on espn essentially discussing how the cardinals have owned him to this point.

You know he saw that. I bet his velocity is even a tick higher this game than his average
Can u believe we are actually talking about fearing the Pirates.
that's what makes baseball beautiful. anybody can beat anybody.

buuuuut yeah. the pirates. geez

Said this million times. Talent level difference from roster to roster is minute. 390 position players. Out of 330 M people. It’s all about who’s hot and who’s not. Exactly why underdogs win.

Yes, even the best teams only win about 60-65% of their games. What bothers me is that Fedde and MM have been terrible lately and no moves are made. When Fedde gave up the seriously crooked number the team just deflated and the game was over. We made their starter look like Koufax, and the guy had a decent game, but Koufax he is not. The air went out of the balloon and that was that. It happens, but it has been happening with Fedde and MM a LOT lately. Why McGreevy is not in the rotation and one of those two out.... Well we all know why, but it still is bad. As Tony used to say, a win in April is worth as much as one in Sept. Same for mid season. We are in a dog fight for the division and we need to sort out the rotation.

You should be able to beat the Pirates 2 out of 3. Skenes is a great young pitcher. Cards have risen to the occasion and beaten some very good pitchers this year. Let's hope they come out ready to play today and AP at least keeps them in the game and maybe they win a low scoring squeaker. They were terrible yesterday. Hopefully not 2 days in a row....

The Pirates and Marlins are hot?! I love baseball!
With Skenes today, do we wanna save Gray for Cubs gane one, or maybe stop a sweep tomorrow.
Yes, I would hold him for Friday. Wrigley is a tough assignment. Two day games and then ESPN Sunday night.
