I've wondered about this for a while now. Seems the obvious move.

Yeah this is what I've been saying. Sunny is our 4C, Dean/Dvorsky can step into 3C. We carry on smartly.

Yeah, he was a mess in the Winnipeg series but there was a good reason. He got rocked harder than anyone has seen in in a long time. He seriously could have called it quits after that and nobody would have questioned him. But he didn’t. Throughout his career The dude has grown from adversity and that hit and that series may have helped him grow. Monty will help him learn from it. I have confidence in Monty as a teacher and Kyrou as a player who has experienced significant growth to his game over the years. He really has come a long way when you look at his career. Army had to explore what was out there, but I’m excited they didn’t trade him.britishblue wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 03:18 am Kyrou is a solid top 6 winger, scores 30+ goals a season, and is signed to a good deal.
I maintain be isnt going to be a difference maker in the playoffs, but has definitely improved and he absolutely is a player thay helps you *get* to the playoffs.
Agree on the center position - I'll be curious if the Blues do anything in FA, but I would like to see Dvorsky at 3C before wringing my hands over the center position. With the skilled wingers the Blues have on the 3rd line, Dvorsky can't do much worse than Sunny.zamadoo wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 08:09 amYeah this is what I've been saying. Trading Kyrou before his NTC kicked in was just our best chance to acquire D (or a stud top-6 C) and avoid having to move on from one of Snuggerudd, Bolduc, Neighbours, and Stenberg in the next season or two (or perhaps Stancl, Pekarcik, Carbonneau, Kaskimaki).
Now it seems more like we'll be moving those coveted prospects/younger players to acquire D.
Of course he will keep making strides hes working with coaches over summer and strength training. Army wanted a lot for Kyrou the Blues cant give him away for picks and prospects that makes zero sense I feel like Army would have moved him if the right deal was on the table. But now as it stands the Blues are loaded at wing, grab a center and buckle up gonna be a fun upcoming seasonbrianstlou2 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 05:27 amThe guy has had solid growth to his game over the last 2-3 years. Ill keep saying it, 10 goals in his last 19 playoff games is a difference. Whether its tap ins or no assists doesnt matter to me hes a cog in this wheel and has shown he can score playoff goals. Kyrou needs to take the next step in his career though as has been pointed out here ad nauseum. He needs to add another 5-10 lbs of muscle again this summer and on the forecheck he needs to have a little more physicality and intensity. I dont care if Kyrou never throws a body check but with his speed he needs to be a plus plus turnover guy as he was in the 21'-22' playoffsbritishblue wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 03:18 am Kyrou is a solid top 6 winger, scores 30+ goals a season, and is signed to a good deal.

I think if we go that route we have to bring faksa back.the miracle wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 08:32 amAgree on the center position - I'll be curious if the Blues do anything in FA, but I would like to see Dvorsky at 3C before wringing my hands over the center position. Sunny will be better at 4C.
re-signing faksa isn't the worst move in the world. the market for C's is just crazy right nowskilles wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 09:13 amI think if we go that route we have to bring faksa back.the miracle wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 08:32 amAgree on the center position - I'll be curious if the Blues do anything in FA, but I would like to see Dvorsky at 3C before wringing my hands over the center position. Wasn’t he the one that was hurt all the time? Korolev we got some mileage out of and correct me, the tall one was Khavenov?desertrat23 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 09:47 am I don’t know what’s more strange: the fans who think Kyrou is the second coming of Vitali Karamnov, or the ones who think he’s the second coming of Connor McDavid.
I think Khavanov was a few years later. It was Karamnov, Korolev and Prokhorov, but yeah, I feel like Korolev was the only one of the first three Russians who did anything.netboy65 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 10:26 amWasn’t he the one that was hurt all the time? I mean the Blues did trade a RW off the roster today, which wasn't nonsense. It was well-speculated. Armstrong openly spoke in this code (trading from an area of strength to balance an area of weakness) so the only question was who it was going to be.
