I am a BIG fan of The Martian, so I am looking forward to this. I have not read the book.

The book is excellent. The protagonist, Ryland Grace, is on a mission in space and suffering from amnesia. He eventually realizes that the mission was to find out why the Earth's sun is dimming. He meets an alien - unlike any alien I've ever encountered in any book or film - and comes to realize they're on similar quests and so begin a cooperative effort. Hope the film matches the creativity and fun of the book.

Looks pretty good, surprised they released such a long trailer for a film not coming out until next year.
The give-away-too-much-plot school of modern trailer-making...
I thought the same but seeing comment sections about this in regards to those that read the book, they stated there is a whole lot more to this story than the trailer showed. I guess we shall see.
