There will be a big demand for Nootbaar as several teams are looking for outfield help. Astros need a lh bat badly. Padres need a left fielder and the Dodgers could use a lh bat to play the outfield as Conforto has been horrible. I mentioned several weeks back about the Mariners also could use him.
I don’t see him signing an extension to stay here and with only two years left now is the time to move on while he still has value.
3 years too late.
But this has been the inevitable outcome.
Mo's love affair has been the only thing keeping Lars The Human Sushi-baar around.

Church has a lot better credentials than Nootbaar had when promoted, has a cannon arm, speed, and hitting ability. Too bad he bats lefty, maybe trade Nootbaar and promote him.
It is inevitable that Mootbaar will be traded.
STL should have done so 3 years ago when I was first and best to understand and advise that it was the only reasonable course of action.
The front office is catching up to what I analyzed correctly long ago.
Moot's days are numbered.
With Burleson showing he can handle a corner outfield spot, that is foreordained.
With Church able to handle all 3 outfield spots, there will clearly be room for him.
Noot still has better average better OBP better OPS more rbi more runs more home runs more rbi more virtually everything than the unikkkorn
Twice as many PA's.....
But, this is an outfield discussion.
So let's stay on topic.
Fact is, Lars The Human Sushi-baar has not been as good an overall player this season as Donovan has been.
Or Burleson.
Or Scott.
Meaning Moot has been the 4th best outfield option - exactly as I listed prior to the season even beginning.
He is best suited for being a platoon 4th outfielder - nothing more.
Better than Walker?
Yes - but then, he is 4 years older.
Better than Church?
It is time to find out.
Reality is, when all is said and done. he may prove to be no more than the 6th or 7th best outfielder currently is the system.

Keep learning.

The schtick is tired and old, Melville. Remove it and you’ll be more credible - as you lay out some interesting things.

More credible on this topic after being more correct than anyone else for the past 4 years?
My credibility is just fine.
In fact, it is why you and others read every single one of my posts.
Wise choice.

Even as good as Church has performed, he may not get a call up in the near future unless there is an injury or a trade.

Between both levels 2025: 21K in 201 at bats.
You like to see that.
Church seems kind of like a Burly-type hitter. Low K rate, good bat to ball skills. The Cardinals need more of them.
Those are the type players to build around
It would be good for Church to get some PT for Cardinals before the trade deadline. In order to get an evaluation of him. Which might factor into some trade deadline decisions.

More than likely they don't want to start his clock yet, Mo is really fond of having at least one player that has almost no value whatsoever.

The Cardinals have the 6th lowest strikeout rate in baseball and 4th highest contact % in baseball. Zone contact% is the 2nd highest. I think they are doing just fine there.
