Nathan Church- Have a game!

Post by Rosie's Rule »

2 hr’s tonight including a grand slam- what are the expectations for him at the MLB level?

His swing looks MLB ready - don’t know much about him but only 24 years old.

He should be getting the call soon. Dude is tormenting AAA pitching.

Church might be hitting his way into the reset. Another rice pitching line for Roby this evening. 5 innings, 1 run, 4 hits, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts. They took him out after five tonight. He may have reached his pitch limit. Prudent with his injury history.

If he swung RH Church would have been here months ago.

The question is how do they get him playing time people can suggest benching noot Scott or burly all they want to but it’s not going to happen I don’t see him getting enough playing time to be called up

Church has a lot better credentials than Nootbaar had when promoted, has a cannon arm, speed, and hitting ability. Too bad he bats lefty, maybe trade Nootbaar and promote him.

Yes....just posted something similar in another thread.
You can’t sit Burly. He’s killing it!
And when Herrera and Walker return Burly is corner OF daily.

Then people will say he too sucks when he has a bad streak and isn’t hitting .400 people were abandoning Herrera as soon as he had a slump and wasn’t batting .400 anymore lol

It is inevitable that Mootbaar will be traded.
STL should have done so 3 years ago when I was first and best to understand and advise that it was the only reasonable course of action.
The front office is catching up to what I analyzed correctly long ago.
Moot's days are numbered.
With Burleson showing he can handle a corner outfield spot, that is foreordained.
With Church able to handle all 3 outfield spots, there will clearly be room for him.

1) Great Cards come from behind win!
2) A lot of really good dialogue on CT.
And now.....drumroll please!
3) The Sideshow Clown speaks!

LMFAO Sideshow.....you’re a CT treasure.

Trading Nootbaar is my dark horse deadline move.

To me, it seems clear that DJ Biscuits is here to stay. The more he plays, the sharper he is on both sides of the ball.
Scott is streaky, but still very capable of helping the team when he slumps.
Walker still needs time to play, and I think unless he absolutely falls off a cliff this year, he gets one more shot to put things right next year.

I really don't see where Nootbaar fits long term. When he's on, he's on, but that's between slumps, passivity, and IL time. I think I'd try and package him and Matz/Fedde for a pretty decent prospect and a righty bench bat. Of course, we'll see what the market will say. It's all too easy to armchair GM right now.

There will be a big demand for Nootbaar as several teams are looking for outfield help. Astros need a lh bat badly. Padres need a left fielder and the Dodgers could use a lh bat to play the outfield as Conforto has been horrible. I mentioned several weeks back about the Mariners also could use him.
I don’t see him signing an extension to stay here and with only two years left now is the time to move on while he still has value.
