They are extremely weak without Ramirez. Almost White Sox level.Baseball Savant wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 22:34 pm He had no-hit stuff from the first pitch
And a pretty weak Cleveland lineup helped too
But it was also a tremendous start by Gray.

Did you like the stadium ?.....or have you been there many times...my buddy really liked it on his trip there...this one along with petco were a few of his favorites...gocards04 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 21:32 pm Got to see it up and close in person here in Cleveland tonight. Sonny was absolutely phenomenal. A lot of the Cleveland fans around us gave him his props and the Cleveland postgame even shouted him out and gave him his due before the postgame fireworks show. It was a phenomenal performance
Yep. Gray threw 89 pitches, Cleveland threw 93 strikes.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 06:20 am 89 pitches. Very well might be his best game ever. The other team threw nearly as many strikes as Gray thru pitches.
This is our first time up here to watch the Cardinals play. It’s a nice stadium. It’s obviously been updated and you can tell the Guardians franchise has put a lot of money into it. It’s a nice ballpark. Solid 7/10. Some of the concourses are a little compact, so traffic can be a little congested, but it’s a nice ballpark. All the Cleveland fans we have talked to have been really good and respectful to us and very good baseball fans. We have enjoyed our time at the park so far. The city itself is a little underwhelming, but we are here for baseballBushiro wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 01:18 amDid you like the stadium ?.....or have you been there many times...my buddy really liked it on his trip there...this one along with petco were a few of his favorites...gocards04 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 21:32 pm Got to see it up and close in person here in Cleveland tonight. I don't remember the year, but I do remember it was Mother's day. Also, it was the first time I heard about the "game score" stat for starting pitchers.rbirules wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 21:17 pm Probably the best game by a Cardinals pitcher at least as far back as when Shelby Miller gave up a lead off single to the Rockies then sent the next 27 batters down in order. I want to say that was in 2012 or 2013. I know Wacha and Miles each had near no hitters in that time frame as well.

Just saw that! (I often have to watch the archived games due to work) That would be pretty wild, if true. Either way, classy move that Pages will remember fondly. Good team chemistry it seems.imyourhuckleberry wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 21:16 pmIn the post game interview he said the base hit was the only time he shook Pages off all night. That outing is what fans dreamed of when he was signed. Love seeing the older vets showing the young guys how it’s done. We need the balance of both.imetsatchelpaige wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025 12:46 pm Sonny Gray is only the third pitcher in MLB history to throw a Maddux with over 10 strikeouts and less than two hits allowed.
Sandy Koufax (6/4/1964)
Chris Archer (8/20/2015)
Sonny Gray (today)
