my bad you are right...dang I missed that one....you know maybe Lou might have made that tradebluetunehead wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:09 pmLou is no longer in charge of the Islanders (as of this offseason). If St. Louis was offering Kyrou in a package for someone like Noah Dobson or even a top-tier piece, Lou Lamoriello may have balked.
So if teams are hesitant, it's probably not that they don't want him—it's that the risk-reward equation (especially at that cap hit) makes them cautious. Teams want cost certainty, and if they’re unsure he’s a true driver on a contending team, they’re not going to give up high-end assets.

He apparently included Dobson in an offer for Marner at the trade deadline, whereas Darche seems to be thinking more in terms of a rebuild. Might be why Lou is out.ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:12 pmmy bad you are right...dang I missed that one....you know maybe Lou might have made that tradebluetunehead wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:09 pmLou is no longer in charge of the Islanders (as of this offseason). Friedman apparently said it on the radio. I don't believe it would be 1 for 1. Sabres would probably have to add 9th overall pick and Jack Quinn or something else. Maybe Blues can offload Leddy too...

My bad. I thought you meant clearing cap space before the LTIR can kick in.zamadoo wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:18 pmSameseattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:10 pm I have interest in two Buffalo defensemen, their names don't have 'Byram' in them

My thought exactly - Byrum looks like Mr Glass, no point in signing that dude long term and potentially handicap the teams spending.seattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:08 pmWe're loaded at LD so let's get an LD who's one hit from done and also kind of not that special and let's use our biggest trade chip to do it? I have to believe that some of this is warped remnants of a larger-discussed framework that became moot when Peterka went to Utah ... ?the miracle wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:27 pmMy thought exactly - Byrum looks like Mr Glass, no point in signing that dude long term and potentially handicap the teams spending.seattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:08 pmWe're loaded at LD so let's get an LD who's one hit from done and also kind of not that special and let's use our biggest trade chip to do it? Re: Kyrou for Byram. . .seriously?
Maybe if it were Kyrou, Krug, Leddy, and Faulk for Byram, Samuelsson, Kulich, and their #9OA - or something kind of like that- and then we actually used the space for Marner, and Byram was a cheap signing like $4-5M.2forDiving wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:19 pm

So yeah......just kidding
