I was wondering when this came out if there wasn't a third team involved. The basis of it being Kyrou for Petelka and Byram with Byram going to a third team for a legitimate right handed defenseman?
Or having the opposing team down to 5 D - knocking out their top D... and then performing "fly bys" the rest of the game and into OT ... and then getting called out on national tv for "lack of compete" in a Game 7?theograce wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 15:34 pmLike not being selfish/dumb and icing the puck at a key time in Game 7.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 15:03 pm there is a hell of a lot more involved in winning a playoff series than getting open and firing off a few great shots.

"Elliotte Friedman: If St. Louis is in on Bowen Byram, you could see them talking about Jordan Kyrou and/or a defenseman - SN 590"noted wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 15:32 pm https://x.com/NHLRumourReport/status/19 ... 0818240889
Friedman apparently said it on the radio. I don't believe it would be 1 for 1. Sabres would probably have to add 9th overall pick and Jack Quinn or something else. Maybe Blues can offload Leddy too...
That isn't even clear with snytax what the hell he's saying. What a pointless garble. Who is "they"? who wants the defenseman from whom?noted wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 15:32 pm https://x.com/NHLRumourReport/status/19 ... 0818240889

says more about the lack of talent that was on the wings(before holloway)Trade the Blues all star, leading goal scorer
I agree with you. The way EF wrote it it sounds like it would be Kyrou+ for Byram and that is laughable.seattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 15:49 pmThat isn't even clear with snytax what the hell he's saying. We're loaded at LD so let's get an LD who's one hit from done and also kind of not that special and let's use our biggest trade chip to do it? That's insane. What a terrible idea if it is truly under consideration.2forDiving wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:05 pmI agree with you. Lou is no longer in charge of the Islanders (as of this offseason). Mathieu Darche is the GM now. Lou's contract was not renewed.ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:05 pm The Islanders are a tight-checking, defense-first team under Patrick Roy, and Kyrou doesn’t fit that mold easily. If St. Louis was offering Kyrou in a package for someone like Noah Dobson or even a top-tier piece, Lou Lamoriello may have balked.
So if teams are hesitant, it's probably not that they don't want him—it's that the risk-reward equation (especially at that cap hit) makes them cautious. Teams want cost certainty, and if they’re unsure he’s a true driver on a contending team, they’re not going to give up high-end assets.
Not sure how that’s a good deal. Byram is one hit away from being Krug at a higher AAV probably. I don’t see what the interest in Byram is. It would be like kicking the tires on Adin Hill, why? The position is already filled.zamadoo wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:08 pmKyrou+Krug2forDiving wrote: ↑27 Jun 2025 16:05 pmI agree with you.
