Personally, I would rather they had a gaping hole. They would come closer to recognizing their need.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 18:03 pmI dont hate the idea of Mikolas for one year. But I'd like to see a good to quality arm added.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 17:37 pmI agree with this. The ? will either be someone they trade for in the offseason to thin out part of the starting position player herd or a veteran free agent. It would not surprise me if they ask Mikolas to sign for a 20% paycut 1 year contract and he takes it. Then Mathews and Roby play the McGreevy role in 2026.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 17:30 pmNext year's rotation is probably Gray, Liberatore, Pallante, McGreevy, and ?.imadangman wrote: ↑25 Jun 2025 17:25 pm Mo quicka? I have no clue Mathews is at AAA but he hasn't gotten on track so maybe Roby can pass him. But Roby has soiled the bowl with Memphis too now. A 6+ ERA. My guess given health they both appear next year. That doesn't mean go ahead and write them in for next years opening day rotation.

Writing style the same. Never on line at same time. The evidence is mounting.

I’ll chime in when it’s clear from the OP if hence is an option to discuss. Right now he’s a maybe and I don’t want to derail this fine thread.

Obviously it doesn’t matter but at the same time it’s a combination funny, sad, and weird.

Of Course the easy answer is McGreevy, but he is not on the list. My WAG is Matthews as he regains his footing after the balky shoulder. He should be available if there are trades or injuries emptying out a couple of spots in the rotation. Roby should be in St. Louis late next year or the beginning of 2027.
