Re: Yanks looking for bullpen help
No doubt
Why would we deal our best RP to the friggin Yankees?

If anything, given him a two year extension at the ASB.
Deal them Matz but only if the return is decent.
Re: Yanks looking for bullpen help
Matz hasn’t been helping his value in June. He has given up multiple hits in 5 of his 7 appearances and has a 7.71 ERA in June and a 5.40 ERA since May 1st. His K/BB ratio in that time is still very good (19-3 since May 1st) though.ClassicO wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 20:33 pmI’ve suggested that Matz could bring value but I’ve been shot down.11WSChamps wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025 15:28 pm Matz may bring more than people think in terms of a trade.
He can start or relieve and give you more than an inning when he does.
and of course he's a lefty.
I believe Helsley will be dealt if the team deems to be out of a playoff run. I believe that's the Cardinals position.
My position is to get the best deal for him at the deadline regardless.
Definitely need to sell Matz and Helsley
Re: Yanks looking for bullpen help
Agreed. He's pitched poorly this month. I've never liked his FA signing (injuries) or his stats that much, but I think that, when he's right, he throws some very good-looking pitches circa Met's Wonder Boy. I think teams desperate for pitching (BP or SP), would give up something. We'll see.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025 09:07 amMatz hasn’t been helping his value in June.
