Matz may bring more than people think in terms of a trade.

He can start or relieve and give you more than an inning when he does.
and of course he's a lefty.

I believe Helsley will be dealt if the team deems to be out of a playoff run. I believe that's the Cardinals position.

My position is to get the best deal for him at the deadline regardless.

Beware of Yankees prospects. They are generally waaay overrated. It is especially depleted at the top end. They continually raid the cookie jar to put together the big league roster.

Agree here. He is pretty good when he has been healthy and he has been healthy. The other thing you mention is his versatility. He can be pretty much anything a team needs, which opens up his market to include all contenders.

This is the problem, Cards always straddling the fence and are not truly contenders. Moe slow to the trigger as always and we miss out. The time to really trade was offseason but he screwed that up, Now Hels value depleted

Well that's one way to put it. We are 6 games above .500 and I doubt we would have gotten much for Helsley this winter when most teams thought they had their bullpen set.

Trade them Maton...his value is about as high as it'll ever be

This is what I hope to see out of Chaim.

Matin costs nothing. You don't trade him

You trade him if you can get something of significant value. This team has been fun to watch...they're resilient and it's a good story. But they aren't winning anything this year. Gear up for the future and cash in on good acquisitions you've made (Maton) while you can

which is exactly why you can get more for him -- get what you can as he won't pitch to his next contract most likely.

He lives in Illinois, not so far from St Louis. You may have the inside track on signing him even if you trade him. The best of both worlds. Doesn't happen often.

Dodgers prospects seem to be the same. They either never pay out or are injured consistently.

I’ve suggested that Matz could bring value but I’ve been shot down.
Definitely need to sell Matz and Helsley

to back you up, MLB.com said Matz probably has the best value. He's been great out of the BP in multiple roles.
