If not for Suter, Blues wouldn't have sniffed the playoffs. He was really, really good. And played far more minutes than I expected. A little respect is in order.

I hope he stays around as a D / Development coach. He has a lot to offer as evidenced by what he did with Tucker.

I wish I could agree with something from you. But not this one. I think he was stable. That's all.
I also think Tucker was fine last year if one is looking at the arc of growth. Whether Suter, Kessel or anyone else. Tucker was getting experience and that, more then teammate is what brought him along enough of not for Monty management had him doing the Mikkola route.

You may want to think back on the injuries we had on the blueline - and don't forget that we were without Fowler for half of our season, and Leddy for a substantial chunk of the season. Sure, Suter lost a step - but the veteran stability was needed. He had more than a few stretches where he saw a ton of time. IF Tucker and Kessel were fully NHL ready, Suter wouldn't have played at all. But they weren't and Suter's contributions should be acknowledged.

I'm not looking to be confrontational. We can agree to disagree.

+1 He was a pleasant productive surprise. I don't want to backhand slap him, but what he did at his age in this league was incredible. I wish him the best. I think it would be great if he was part of the staff.

Lidstrom played to 42 (and I think he still had a few left in the tank), Chelios played to 48 (but I think he was "chemically" enhanced). I'm sure Suter will be talking to a few teams and he might get some legit interest.

He was one of the MVPs of the team in the early going. You are 100% correct that he was massive in helping them cover up under production of others and injuries. He did show his age and tail off at the end becoming a liability. It’s time for some of the kids to sink or swim if we are going to take that next step I keep saying this team is ready to take. Suter isn’t getting them there.

Maybe, but he didn’t have any last year. He should hang ‘em up though unless the Panthers say come get your name on a cup. It would be weird if he kept playing with not much to play for
