PS JoJo Parker Attached below is video interview of the JoJo & Jacob Parker by Buck Showalter on NFL Network Combine show .
Note: JoJo is the twin sitting next to Buck . Both twins committed to Miss. St. and that is where Buck S. played when he went to college. Humorous ending to video at the end about that. Two very grounded kids . As Buck said, your parents did a great job raising you .

You’re welcome, 82Birds.
Buck was the perfect guy to interview the Miss. twins
great picture at the end of Buck in Mississippi State uni back in the day.
yep...legendary HC, Ron Polk was his manager for 2 years. Coach Polk coached some legendary players, and had some legendary teams.... Clark, Palmerio, Brantley, Thigpen...Showalter a few years before.
MLB Pipeline podcast. Callis and Mayo do another mock of the first round at the end. They have the Cardinals passing on Hernandez (high risk, high reward).
With the 5th pick, Cardinals take Eli Willits. They say he may have the highest ceiling in the draft. Could actually go #1.
They projected a nice run early on college pitchers, which is where I thought the Cardinals would go. But Anderson and Arnold were taken in the 1st 4 rounds. Hernandez was there at #5. Also the Cardinals did not take Witherspoon.

Don't know if Buck's comment was true but he said of his pic... Oh that was when I returned for a reunion game . He did look a tad older than a 18-23 year old. oh well !

All conjecture and guesses.

They also talk about the combine and interview Seth Hernández in that podcast.

Kade Anderson with a complete game shutout in game 1 of the CWS, 130 pitches. MLB managers and front offices shudder at the thought of that.
horrendous PC
nevertheless...
this might have cemented him as the #1 draft pick.

@craviduce - any thoughts on Cards potentially targeting a guy like Wehiwa Aloy and going under slot?
I kind of like him more than a kid like Willits… maybe. Love guys that showed out in the Cape Cod League.
they could go Aloy, I talked about that a few weeks ago...with someone? It was a convo bout Aloy, Taylor, Summerhill. Underslot deal, then load up on HS talent the rest of day 1 with overslot deals. Forbes or even the new darling Woods, can be had for cheap. It's a sound philosophy. Many a teams have done this . KC has done that in the past. Brewers did it last year (54th rank player taken with their first pick). You can underslot a HS kid, too....KC did it in 2021, though that HS pitcher has struggled through the minors...Mozzicato, 3 seasons at Quad Cities?
I'm all for it...if there's a sound plan to go with it....and it should never again have 2-3 injured pitchers in that plan, and midget catchers who can't hit, but can get really low on one knee.

Doubt they go that far underslot with their first pick. They're not going to sacrifice drafting in another tier to save money. Think Kade Anderson and Ethan Holliday are 1A and 1B for me at this point in the draft. At this point, I'd be surprised if either of them are available for the Cardinals at 5. Don't see the Cardinals really being in on Seth Hernandez given the likely price tag and the risk associated with high school arms even if the upside is intriguing. Think Jaime Arnold goes off the board to Seattle unless somehow Anderson is available at 3. Feels like the strength of the batters in this year's class is MIF, which the Cardinals likely have their duo in Winn and Wetherholt. You don't draft for need, but you're not pressing it if you don't need to. Avia Arquette isn't the worst get at 5 especially if you think he can hit for enough power to man 3B. If Kyson Witherspoon is willing to cut an underslot deal at 5, I'd be hard tempted to take him.

It seems to be a foregone conclusion that if Holiday is there at 4, Colorado 100% takes him, right?
Personally, I think it's more the assumption that because his father played for Colorado that they'd take him. But the last 3 seasons, they've gone exclusively college players. I'd assume he's going to go off the board before St. Louis would have the opportunity to take him.

I’ve seen Arquette in play at #1 in recent days. I think Washington is still up in the air on 5-6 names.
I don’t think Cards would avoid a middle infielder just because of Winn and JJ.

BPA...SS's can move nearly anywhere on the field...especially tall ones....3B/1B opens up to them
I still think an Underslot deal can be had with anyone in the Top 20...isn't not unprecedented...it's happened several times recently. If you presented your Medicals at the Combine this week, then you'll get no less than 75% of your pick's slotted bonus. Aloy...mentioned by AOF, has moved into the Top 20 on many draftboards, and is mocking as such....he wouldn't be too much of a reach. I think Witherspoon would be another good one...I'm huge fan of the BoomerSooner.
Anyways...I like the strategy with this being a deeper B Tier player draft than we've seen in the past.... I want a lot of HS players in the 2nd/3rd/4th round...but if Ethan Petry is still available, I'm taking him every day of the week .
The Underslot move is one way to handle the draft, there's a million others...some are bad (last year after the 1st round), some are good.
I want the BPA, but I can live with a big Underslot deal if we take the BPA or take big swings at hard to sign HS players
