Re: Blues rumors?
I think it's more likely they're looking for a middle 6 center, which should be easier (but not easy) to obtain.skilles wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 13:52 pmThat is true BUT we have 3 full lines of top 6 wingers and should be looking for a 3rd top 6 center to facilitate that if feasiblemoose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 13:12 pmso what they're looking for in a 2c:

there's a rumor out that NJ might be looking to move on from Mercer. I haven't watched them play much, so no idea if there would be interest or not
Re: Blues rumors?
I am 100% sure the Blues are looking for the best center they can find on a short term deal and A price they can afford. They might settle for a 3rd line center but that is not ideal.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 13:58 pmI think it's more likely they're looking for a middle 6 center, which should be easier (but not easy) to obtain.skilles wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 13:52 pmThat is true BUT we have 3 full lines of top 6 wingers and should be looking for a 3rd top 6 center to facilitate that if feasiblemoose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 13:12 pmso what they're looking for in a 2c:

Re: Blues rumors?
well, anyone higher than that is gonna pass my puke point. I don't wanna trade any of our top 9 wingers. MAYBE Kyrou in a bigger deal, but that's about itskilles wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 14:01 pmI am 100% sure the Blues are looking for the best center they can find on a short term deal and A price they can afford. Re: Blues rumors?
Oh I wouldn't do that but there might be some creative options out there. Like taking on an aging player in the last couple years of their contract that other teams are ready to move on from.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 14:04 pmwell, anyone higher than that is gonna pass my puke point. Could he do another season as the 2nd line center? I mean sure but it wouldn't be ideal.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 05:25 amSchenn had 50 pts last year he's the 2C no doubt unless Army comes up with someone betterTheJackBurton wrote: ↑21 Jun 2025 17:53 pmWe've needed one for about 2 seasons. 3 years ago it was Thomas. And that's why we are again(year 5) talking about old guys we hope can fill 3rd line center.
We are not a small contender with Schenn at 2c. If we are not going to build a cup contender. We need a lottery pick next year.
So it’s all or nothing? Cup or Lottery? We were 1.6 seconds away from round 2 with last year’s team and looking at how things turned out it would have been interesting to see how it would have played out with us in the mix. You don’t just bag that and hope for a lotto pick greenie.
That rumour has been going around. I think it will be on his statue....
Cup or lottery, makes a good slogan. But if we are not building for a cup. We need to be looking at the future. A lottery in next year's draft sets the future up to being contenders. Instead of riding the bubble for another old guys no move contract. We need to keep building with youth. Whether that's a young center traded for, or a elite out of next year's draft.
About those two seconds. Let talk 2 minutes. I wouldn't be bragging about losing against probably the worse playoff goalie, at the time.
We wasn't, aren't, won't be a second round team. We are a bubble team that can go as far as Binny can take us.
Even if he doesn’t score one this offseason, I suspect that it would be because once teams have one they’re loathe to let them go.
Binny took us all the way to a Cup so I don’t see round 2 as a particular challenge.
Ok, I’ve fed you enough, back under your bridge.
You need a link for something we have lived. Too funny.
Let me guess. The guy under the bridge, along with the rest of those that see clearly. Have been right each year about what this team is, and those who are not trolls have been wrong.
Weve needed a 2c for years. Why has Army not got one.
Why can other teams trade for young talent. Yet we can only trade young talent for a hard working 200' third line old guy.
Right now the hardest positions on the ice to fill are 2nd line center and RHD. If he just fills one of those this off season we'll be in a much better position.
He doesn't have the foot speed to keep up with Kyrou and Holloway. He'd be a much better fit as he 3rd line center.

Yep I agree with that i think everyones saying IF Army can land a legit 2C i guess thats a 50+ pt guy with a manageable term and salary then thats great. For me i skeptical that it can be accomplished. Whats the term for Granlund, 5 yrs?TheJackBurton wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025 15:14 pmCould he do another season as the 2nd line center? When it comes to the players we know to be available I'm beginning to think the Blues do have an option to sit tight and see how it goes. Between term and AAV and their plans for the very near future I hope they don't force some kind of deal on the roster.
Maybe DA can pull a rabbit out.
