Hockey Pete wrote: 17 Jun 2025 13:21 pm Was on a Teams call with one of my closest friends (lives in Prague, and one of the best experts I know in KHL hockey), and he watched a lot of the KHL playoffs, particularly the KHL finals. Koromyslov was the youngest defender for Traktor (who lost in the finals), played on the 2nd pairing and the top PK throughout the playoffs, and was one of only four defenders that played all 21 playoff games.

He was amazed how the 20 year old was beating up on MEN game in and game out, and his overall mobility. He considered him one of Traktor's top defenders, which if you knew Mikael, those are strong words as he thinks teenagers are nothing but fluff in the KHL..

I rarely hear the organization discuss him, so I'm wondering where he stands?
He’s not forgotten by me. I’ve always liked him and thought he’d jump up our pool if he ever came over. Very excited to see he’ll be attending development camp. That’s an encouraging sign. Shows he’s at least interested in pursuing an NHL career.

He’s not ever really going to put up much of any offense but he’s big and I’ve always thought he had excellent gap control. He can be mean and nasty too. Maybe a Mikkola caliber player eventually? Hopefully a bit sooner than it took Mikkola to get there though.

Glad your friend likes him too. There was a discussion on Koromyslov over at HFBlues a few months ago and a Russian poster there said Arseni signed a 1 year extension through next season. So my guess is he’s considering coming over to N.A. after next season. But agree with you that would be just fine as he’s getting good minutes on a top team. And our Springfield D core is looking crowded already anyway.

But he’s certainly one to keep an eye on. Hoping some of you that are able to attend development cano can provide some good reports on how he looks. How he stacks up.
Oh I'll be there... Probably in biker leathers and a ball cap.

To my fellow posters, if you're going to be there, just come on over and grab a seat. A dad from last years camp (they had a kid camp on the rink across the hall) stated that I had a 3 to 5ft person-less gap around me, as he thought I looked like I didn't want to be bothered, but trust me that's NOT the case, especially if we talk hockey...

I think the styles are similar, but Koromyslov is much bigger and a better skater - ceiling is higher. Very intriguing prospect.
He's taller, but the height is listed mostly at 6'3" (one = 6'5"), depending on the website. The videos are old and he looks 6'3". But the weight is 180-185 lbs = not much meat on that tall frame.
