Right? After the hand pass we were down 2-1 and won the next 3 straight including a road 5-0 shutout and pounding them in game 6, but yeah, we barely squeaked byDawgDad wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 10:20 amBlues "barely" made it past the Sharks? He was clearly injured yet was still dangerous and lead the Sharks who we barely made it past in 6 games. He had 53 points the past two seasons, more than Faulk (or Fowler) has ever had, and the season prior he had literally double what Faulk had (which was Faulk's highest in his career).DawgDad wrote: ↑16 Jun 2025 07:11 am This thread strikes me as absurd. You guys want to turn a good Blues team into the fading artifacts of the Penguins???? Whose side are you on?
Sure, Crosby can be our bridge 2C, IF he wants to come here, IF the Pens retain about 90%, IF he's ok sitting in the press box watching Dvorsky play when he's breaking in. A lot of IFs there. Karlsson? The Blues schooled him five years ago. Fowler he is not.
I did mention the word "fantasy" but I disagree with your assessment.
Fowler with the Blues: 51g 9-27-36 pts +19, 21 ES assists 21:42
Karlsson: 82g 11-42-53 -24 29 ES assists 23:14
Fowler overall actually had more "point shares" than Karlsson, 6.9 to 6.7, though that's pretty even. Defensively they are not in the same class, Fowler is, Karlsson is not.
Karlsson would be an upgrade over Faulk, certainly would be offensively, if you believe his +/- would improve significantly playing for the Blues. Faulk needs to stem his decline and play better or yes he is a target for an upgrade. The question then becomes is an aging, expensive, defensively challenged (deficient) Karlsson what the Blues should be looking for? I say NO.

Oh lord no. Minus 24 last year. Minus 46 over the last 3 years. I like our defense too much to add a guy with a lousy contract that is one dimensional.
