Agreed. A guy more like Holloway/Neighbours/Schenn is…exactly how Bolduc is trending, except he’s an actual sniper, which would make him even more unique and valuable. And he’s 21.
Re: Calder voting - Bolduc eighth
I'll just say that if last year is who he is, playoff cold and all, we have 5 more years to figure it out. He's not even out of his ELC yet, then we have like 3-4 years of RFA. We have time before worrying about a NTC on him.BluesDom wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 15:24 pmDefinitely harsh. Im just sayin. Maybe the playoffs are what he actually is. Many players who are awesome in regular season and disappear in playoffs. Possibly Kyrou--Although Kyrou had his moments. Its very unlikely that Bolduc is getting traded. But..If they felt that he was a tad soft--they could trade him for a guy more like Holloway/Neighbours/Schenn. Good to sell high. In reality Im sure he will have less rope next year. He will be expected to clean up all the dumb penalties. I hope he is going to become a complete player. He made great strides under Monty. Next year will be telling.TAFKAP wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 14:11 pmI would think it's wrong to judge a rookie based on his performance in one round of his first playoff series. It's kinda harsh don't you think?BluesDom wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 13:38 pm I like Bolduc. He wasnt good in the playoffs--7 games 1 assist and 16 penalty minutes. Small sample size. Based on his great breakout season. He may be a guy that could get you a grittier player in return. I like him and I think hes gotten tougher for sure. Part of me thinks we should sell high and get a more impactful player--could be wrong. (him plus some nice draft capital and a veteran d-man---might make a sexy package to lure what we need.)

I'll update my betting log. The Blues will win the Stanley Cup as long as we don't play are team with a rookie rated higher than Bolduc. I'm a stickler when it comes to having the better players than the other guys.netboy65 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 13:31 pmHe can’t be any good, he wasn’t top 5 pickHarry S Deals wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 13:08 pm Bolduc looks like hes going to be a very good forward moving ahead for the franchise. 24gs in only 97 GP i believe Zach was tied for 5th in his class in G/GP and 10th in Goals. Has a complete game, plays with an edge, very coachable, elite skater, good size, elite shot. 30 goals at some point may not be a stretch another great Blues draft pick
I like Bolduc as much as you guys, but that doesn't change the fact that 7 other teams likely improved more than the Blues in the draft. That is nothing to applaud. That is an "L" in my score book.

Montreal with Lane Hutson, etc
The 7 teams with a rookie ranked higher than Bolduc.
Clearly Im oversimplifying things, but my point is valid. 8th in voting isnt good enough in general.
Re: Calder voting - Bolduc eighth
Shouldn’t Celebrini be the highest ranked since he was drafted the highest? Every team that didnt get the top 5 resulr from the draft, is a loser. Congratulations to Zack Bolduc!!!
I have a strong feeling we will be celebrating Jimmy Snuggerud next year.
As much as some of the non-fans try to pretend otherwise, the Blues are looking like a team with a great future.

Not to overstate the obvious, but what about the prior 10 years we had him??a smell of green grass wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025 15:46 pmThe Blues had 1 Top5 pick on their team in 2019, Pietrangelo.DawgDad wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025 12:49 pmFact: The Blues did not have a top-5 pick from 2009 through 2018, a span ofa smell of green grass wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025 11:16 amEvery team that didnt get the top 5 resulr from the draft, is a loser.
