Calder voting - Bolduc eighth

Re: Calder voting - Bolduc eighth
Bolduc looks like hes going to be a very good forward moving ahead for the franchise. 24gs in only 97 GP i believe Zach was tied for 5th in his class in G/GP and 10th in Goals. Has a complete game, plays with an edge, very coachable, elite skater, good size, elite shot. 30 goals at some point may not be a stretch another great Blues draft pick
Re: Calder voting - Bolduc eighth
He was definitely a bright spot. Reminded me a lot of Steen.

Imagine where he would have finished if he had a center that could have fed him on a regular basis? I’m a Sunny fan, but not as a top 9 forward and not as a guy to center Bolduc

He can’t be any good, he wasn’t top 5 pickHarry S Deals wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 13:08 pm Bolduc looks like hes going to be a very good forward moving ahead for the franchise. 24gs in only 97 GP i believe Zach was tied for 5th in his class in G/GP and 10th in Goals. I like Bolduc. He wasnt good in the playoffs--7 games 1 assist and 16 penalty minutes. Small sample size. Based on his great breakout season. He may be a guy that could get you a grittier player in return. I like him and I think hes gotten tougher for sure. Part of me thinks we should sell high and get a more impactful player--could be wrong. (him plus some nice draft capital and a veteran d-man---might make a sexy package to lure what we need.)

So many people want to include Bolduc in trades. He may not have scored during our 7 playoff games, but he was feisty and physical. Loved his game in playoffs.. points will come.

I would in no way trade Bolduc right now, hes 21..... it would be awful to see Bolduc go somewhere else and become a franchise type forward. We have a bit of a glut of LWs very true but its too early to make these moves till we see exactly what we have. We know what Neighbours can do, we havent seen Stenberg yet and we've only glimpsed Bolduc. 19gs in 72 games but those were overwhelmingly after Monty was hired, 17 goals from Dec - April, very nice clip over a whole season at 21Cardsfan1586 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 13:56 pm So many people want to include Bolduc in trades. Play off off experience will go a long way with him.
He is a goal scorer first but to my surprise he clearly showed he has a 200 foot game to offer. He had a great 2nd half season.
He's going to be a really good player for this franchise.

I would think it's wrong to judge a rookie based on his performance in one round of his first playoff series. It's kinda harsh don't you think?BluesDom wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 13:38 pm I like Bolduc. Monty turned him into a complete player. We always knew he had offensive talent, but he really came on after Montgomery got hired. Him playing physical and with attitude was really unexpected, and a great development. Really looking forward to next year, especially the powerplay, with Bolduc in the bumper and Snuggerud in the “Ovechkin spot”.
Re: Calder voting - Bolduc eighth
He's a goal scorer with a physical edge to his game. That's something we need more of not less if we want to be successful in the playoffs. If he was playing with Thomas and getting 1PP time, I have little doubt he'd be netting 25+ goals a season with the potential to be a regular 30+ guy.
Re: Calder voting - Bolduc eighth
Definitely harsh. Im just sayin. Maybe the playoffs are what he actually is. Many players who are awesome in regular season and disappear in playoffs. Possibly Kyrou--Although Kyrou had his moments. Its very unlikely that Bolduc is getting traded. But..If they felt that he was a tad soft--they could trade him for a guy more like Holloway/Neighbours/Schenn. Good to sell high. In reality Im sure he will have less rope next year. He will be expected to clean up all the dumb penalties. I hope he is going to become a complete player. He made great strides under Monty. Next year will be telling.TAFKAP wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025 14:11 pmI would think it's wrong to judge a rookie based on his performance in one round of his first playoff series. Re: Calder voting - Bolduc eighth
Army/Steen have to find a center for the 3rd line. They need a guy like Bozak, something to offer in all aspects of the game and good on PK, too. Doesn't have to be a star, just a guy who can keep his linemates playing the right way while leveraging all their skills. The Blues should be pushing 40+ goals and plus-hockey at ES with the 3rd line wingers they will employ.

How is he soft? He is young enough to still have rope. He takes coaching direction very well, totally willing.
I dunno....imo there's no way the blues should move him unless they want to go backwards.
