Plus Phillies lost today 2-1 Thank you, Pirates ! Phillies were 2-8 the last 10 games and now add another loss. A big slump right now.
Phillies host Cubs the next 3.
Harper to the IL.
Phillies will probably wet the bed per usual?

Noot, if we had a stereotypical lead off guy, should be batting near the bottom of the lineup.

Good series, good baseball, tough to sweep a really good team.

Noot so overrated. Maybe a trade deadline candidate.

Noot is in a slump. He still has had a good season leading off and is second to Ohtani in the NL as a lead off batter.

I dont get why people treat a slump like a forever thing and throw players under the bus when they struggle.

The thing is even his walks are down. At least when Noot isnt batting great he still finds ways to get on base. Over his last 30 games he has only 13 walks compared to 25 walks over his first 33 games.

That isnt going to get it done.

Flashing back to late Thursday:
Drop second straight series and 4 of 6 games.
Now 5 back of Cubs.
Pitching looks very shaky.
Dodgers coming to town.
Uh oh!
If you had told me then we’d have taken 2 of 3 and picked up a game on Cubs & Brewers I would have said....”sign me up”!
Now let’s take a series from Blue Jays!!!

Yes it needs to get better but again, hes in a slump and he's just not seeing the ball. He hasn't been terrible over the past 30 days but the last 10 or so have been awful and he hasn't walked much at all in that stretch.

The problem is, there is nobody else on this team that I want at lead off right now. 2-6 seems pretty set and I don't want to mess that up. Scott has been even worse than Noot so he shouldn't lead off. And these is nobody else out of Buleson, Gormsn, or Pages that should. So they are kind of stuck.

I like Oil giving VSII a breather today, kids in a horrible slump (Last 42 PA: .056 .171 .056 .226).

I'd have liked to have seen Norman rewarded w/a start at 2B (Donny in LF and Bison on the bench).

Hope we can give Kershaw yet another bad Cardinal memory before he hangs em' up.

GO CARDS!
Especially with barrero in cf, having burly in rf is scary OF defense.

We should've learned by now wattage, Burly is an Oli favorite.

No way Gorman, after yesterdays big game, should've been benched for Bumbles to play today. ::crazya::

Oli "The Cooler" strikes again
According to 101ESPN the other day, they said Oli does this so players like Gorman can build confidence and feel good about their game for a few days in hopes it carries into the long term, whereas going out and putting up an 0 fer against Kershaw would likely send his head back to square one.

It's not the worst idea I've ever heard.
Oh I hope that’s not true if so oli is more dumb than I thought. A player isn’t going to be riding the bench several days feeling good they’re going to be frustrated thinking what more do I have to do get in some games? Then they will probably start pressing
Mo and the game strategist make the lineups. Oli just delivers the copy to the ump.
No they don’t
Mo said it himself two years ago. Oli gets input. But he does not make his own lineups.

Welp, I'll take 2/3 from a team with a better record than us. Hard to be too upset about today.
