Do we think Donovan's drop in rbi production at all correlates to the slumps both Noot and Scott are going thru?Futuregm2 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 09:50 amDonovan is having a really nice season and doing great at getting on base. But he’s been a terrible RBI guy which is what you should be wanting out of a #3 hitter.
Among the 171 players with at least 80 PAs with runners on base, Donovan is T-48th in PAs and T-90th in RBI with men on base.
The other one is the one you brought up… Arenado, who is 2nd in MLB in PAs with men on base and T-71st in RBI with men on base.
Contreras is a better, but still not great ratio at 10th in PAs with men on base and T-28th in RBI.

Meh, I don’t necessarily think so because it’s been since April 9th.greyhawk wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 16:15 pmDo we think Donovan's drop in rbi production at all correlates to the slumps both Noot and Scott are going thru?Futuregm2 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 09:50 amDonovan is having a really nice season and doing great at getting on base. Scott II has a .313 OBP and Noot a .336 OBP since then, not exactly terrible. Plus Winn has a .395 OBP in the 2nd spot and that happened in late April.
I just think for whatever reason Donovan hasn’t done a good job at getting RBIs. He doesn’t hit for the power that you want out of that spot. He’s the epitome of this team really. Good player, hitting a lot of doubles, getting on base, and not much over the wall power. In today’s game you need that over the wall power or everything else has to be perfect.

Donovan is slashing .327/.397/.455/.851 with runners in scoring position. Claiming he's been a terrible RBI guy is insane. He's got 19 RBI in only 55 ABs with RISP.
He's slashing .330/.382/.430/.812 with runners on base. He actually gets more hits and reaches base more, when runners are on base, then when they aren't on base.
His 137 OPS+ is HOF level. He's 2nd in the league in hits, on pace for 202 hits, including 54 doubles. He's also on pace for 70 RBI, which is nothing to sneeze at, considering he has less AB opportunities with RISP than Arenado, Contreras and Nootbar.
And its hard to drive in runs from the 3 hole, when your leadoff hitter stops getting on base. Nootbar has been horrendous since April 17. Slashing .235/.319/.383.
Brendan Donovan is the one and only offensive talent that isn't in question.
What an awfully weird post to claim Donovan is bad at RBI. Almost insane.

And in his last 15 games, he’s hitting .203 with a .521 OPS. So, those previous 23 must have been exceptional. Yes, he’ll be fine, but probably not elite.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 16:01 pmWell, I was expecting an .830-.850 OPS, numbers similar to what Freddie Freeman hit last season (.282 avg .854 OPS 35 2B 22 HR 89 RBI). And outside of his OPS, his pace for the counting numbers isn’t that far off of those. A .784 OPS isn’t that far off of that. And he’s got an .836 OPS over his last 161 PAs (38 games) with 25 RBI in that time.woofy25 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 15:57 pm A lot of people really backing up WC on this forum. With so many doing so, I’d usually applaud the support. In this case, it’s clear Contreras just isn’t living up to the offensive “not a catcher anymore” hype. We all know he started slow but people act like he’s been on fire for some reason. He hit .267 with a .784 OPS in May. That’s good, certainly. But it’s nowhere near what people were expecting. I fully believe he’ll finish with an .800 OPS, but to-date, he is a below average hitter in 2025 and batting 4th bc there is no one else to take his place.
He’ll be fine.
Re: 59K's, 51 hits
And just like that Willson has 24 RBI over his last 27 games.

He's just ' stirring the pot.'
