59K's, 51 hits
Not exactly a clutch hitter.

He's ragging on Contreras, I guess because he's tired of yelling at the clouds.Who the hell you talkin about
That's the same player slashing 288/351/455 with RISP.

Re: 59K's, 51 hits
Contreras 32 RBI 239 PA (29 RBI over his last 185 PA)
Donovan 24 RBI 246 PA (14 RBI over his last 198 PA)
Donovan 24 RBI 246 PA (14 RBI over his last 198 PA)
Re: 59K's, 51 hits
Donovan is hitting .321, 71 hits, second in NL, 19 doubles, tied for lead in NL, .384 OBP.
Contreras is 58th in average and only 32 RBI with Donovan hitting ahead of him. Now if you wanted to compare to Arenado I would buy it, but not Donovan.
Re: 59K's, 51 hits
Donovan is having a really nice season and doing great at getting on base. But he’s been a terrible RBI guy which is what you should be wanting out of a #3 hitter.
Among the 171 players with at least 80 PAs with runners on base, Donovan is T-48th in PAs and T-90th in RBI with men on base.
The other one is the one you brought up… Arenado, who is 2nd in MLB in PAs with men on base and T-71st in RBI with men on base.
Contreras is a better, but still not great ratio at 10th in PAs with men on base and T-28th in RBI.

And never mind the fact that only 20 of those 59 Ks Red is upset about came with RISP. Red can't think past "Go!"

In his first year or two on the board, he did admit to being little more than a troll -> "I just like to stir the pot."WLTFE wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 10:39 amRed is bored...so he starts silly threads to get attention....every few weeks....AnExParrot wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 09:59 amAnd never mind the fact that only 20 of those 59 Ks Red is upset about came with RISP. A lot of people really backing up WC on this forum. With so many doing so, I’d usually applaud the support. In this case, it’s clear Contreras just isn’t living up to the offensive “not a catcher anymore” hype. We all know he started slow but people act like he’s been on fire for some reason. He hit .267 with a .784 OPS in May. That’s good, certainly. But it’s nowhere near what people were expecting. I fully believe he’ll finish with an .800 OPS, but to-date, he is a below average hitter in 2025 and batting 4th bc there is no one else to take his place.
Re: 59K's, 51 hits
So cutting to the chase, some want Burleson to play 1B over Contreras but instead of coming right out and say that, they try first to cut down on Contreras's current stats.
Imo currently, Contreras is the better choice for !B, and it's not that close between the 2 taking their track records into consideration.

Well, I was expecting an .830-.850 OPS, numbers similar to what Freddie Freeman hit last season (.282 avg .854 OPS 35 2B 22 HR 89 RBI). And outside of his OPS, his pace for the counting numbers isn’t that far off of those. A .784 OPS isn’t that far off of that. And he’s got an .836 OPS over his last 161 PAs (38 games) with 25 RBI in that time.woofy25 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2025 15:57 pm A lot of people really backing up WC on this forum. He’ll be fine.
