You don't have to dig very deep to realize there is work to do. Just check in regularly with the minor league updates that craviduce posts. You can't miss the need for improvement. On a more positive note, it may be time that we start including Ixan Henderson when we name pitchers on the Cardinals pitching horizon.
Always have to be adding but I think we have depth moreso than recently. Injuries have hit hard but you have
McGreevy, Mathews, Rom

injured but were probably next
Thompson, Hjerpe, Robberse

Hence Roby Ixan
Not looking great but Mautz Racjic
the next wave is Lin Holiday(hurt) Dutkanych(hurt)

The real bummer was that group of saladin salas davila all of them just didnt take the next step. Hoping to see some progress from Branelli Franco but hes way away. and my wildcards are savacool, sequera and showalter

Also high on Granillo and Gastelum seems to be putting it together for relief.

Graceffo and Bedell have just not been it but maybe they unlock something. Hansen as well.
lol, please don’t list Rom next to Mathews and McGreevy 8O 8O

HARD pass on Rom. Even pre-injury, he was a fringe arm.

Excellent post. One of the best of the year about the system’s pitching depth.
please exclude Rom from this post, then i generally agree
Maybe Rom’s a late bloomer.
No, he's just not a major league pitcher

History shows it takes 4 good pitching prospects to get one decent starter. I looked back to 2015 to 2021 at the top pitching prospects for the Cardinals. There were 16 different pitchers in the top 10 prospect list. Only Marco Gonzalez, Jack Flaherty, Sandy Alcantara are or were successful starters. Libertore may become one. Three became successful relievers, Helsley, Weaver and Hicks. Cards will be lucky if one of those becomes a successful starter. BTW , Zac Gallen was never listed in the top 10.
