Last year his "really impressive" numbers (2.48 ERA and 1.04 WHIP) were in the league where 42yo Robinson Cano put up a 1.000 OPS.

This year he has a 3.30 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP in a league where the average ERA is 2.64 and the average WHIP is 1.15.

It does not occur to people he isn’t good. They are to worried about a loser that don’t know getting a fair shake. I could care less and wouldn’t want my team to sign him for any price.

Great points. Not only that, but in his last really good MLB season he was using SpiderTac, and now umps check pitchers after each inning, so he'd be going hando commando.

Wherever the Cards play he'd suck all the media oxygen out of the stadium and become the team's identity.
