This year he has a 3.30 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP in a league where the average ERA is 2.64 and the average WHIP is 1.15.

No team is obligated to have him. Hes also massively overrated by his famboys. Look at bauers career

Hes has an era of 4.18 or higher in 7 of his 10 seasons in the majors. He has a history of starting out hot then fading. His best career months by era are april by far and then june and his worst months are july, then september, then august. And that is with covid season helping those numbers out. He starts hot then fades.

Of his 3 seasons below 4.18 era, 1 was the covid shortened year, and another was the half season with dodgers before getting suspended- so not full years so he didnt get chamce to fade like he normally does. Only 1 year did he put up a semi full year with an era under 4.18.

Last year the year he dominated, a 42 year old robinson cano, who last time in mlb had a .373 ops in 100 at hats at age 39, was one of the best hitters in the league bauer dominated. That tells you the quality of competition in that leaghe. His numbers in japan this year arent great compared to the rest of putchers in the league.

He just isnt that good anymore. Hes probably a 4th or 5th starter at best in mlb at this point.

Or never was an ace to begin with? He had an era of 4.18 or greater in 7 of his 10 mlb seasons.

2 of the 3 under 4.18 were on 11 starts and in 17 starzs- which aligns with the fact that his best months by era in his career are april, then june, then may while his worst months are july, then september/oct then august- meaning that 2 of those 3 seasons likely would look less amazing had they been full years since he has a history of always fading with more starts.

Obviously Bauer should be in the MLB, and is far better than most starting pitchers today, despite the very stupid posts in this threat trying to say otherwise.

He has a massive lawsuit that he will win, because MLB has cost him hundreds of millions he would have received, if not for them depriving his earning for no justified reason.

He was falsely accused of something he didn't do. He was vindicated in the courts. Despite being innocent, baseball banned him and has never rectified it.

Hopefully, he wins $200-300 million in his future lawsuit.
