I’ve had Swatski’s thought all along. You cannot pay an injured player until he proves himself after the injury.look at the Tory Krug as an example
His companionship with Kyrou really turned Kyrou around.
Play half season and then decide

One of the best traits about holloway is his ability to get the puck deep by himself. So many times when his line would go for a line change he would be the last on the ice and skating it into the offensive zone so our forcheck has good positioning. Numerous times he would get a shot off or able to hold it till the boys get in the zone. I may be getting ahead of myself, but i think hollywood has a 50 goal season shead of him with the right center.

What's a bit interesting here, on multiple levels, is I am not seeing any argument against Moose's 7X7 proposition.
So the fun question is if the Blues did extend both of them this summer....that's a big if....where would Brobergs offer be?
I believe Brobergs value will, in short order, be of equal value to Dylan to the franchise. Much of that is on the come there and me saying it is a whole lot different than the Blues paying it.

His injury was severe enough to keep him off the ice for a long time. Speed is one of his attributes and I just hope it has nothing to do with his legs.

Common sense (what's that?) would indicate that this has happened many times before. I figure both sides would come to some sort of mutual agreement that would add or subtract from an offer depending on how he can play when he comes back.

Anyone worried about the Blues not signing Holloway or Broberg while they are RFAs, are just people who naturally worry. I'm not accusing anyone here of that. It's just that some people worry about tons of stuff that never happens ... like Snuggerud never signing with the Blues.

That's cool and I get that.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025 14:19 pm Anyone worried about the Blues not signing Holloway or Broberg while they are RFAs, are just people who naturally worry. I view it a bit differently. It gives you the chance to say "our commitment to you is high" and you should be able to shave a million a year off the injury. If he played all year and thru playoffs, no doubter 8 million. Now you might be able to get him for 7. Is it a gamble? Sure, but players get injured. Young players more often than not recover from those injuries. Mackinnon had trouble, Rantanen had trouble, I'm not comparing injuries but they happen. And if you want to lock down a roster of talented players so you can bank on it in a few years, that is how you do it. You roll the dice. You saw what he can produce. 8 years by 7 get it done.
