Marner notwithstanding, I don't want them wading into the 28/29 year old free agency pool where they need to commit big dollars or years. The Blues set out on a path to shed older players & contracts, and draft and develop guys. So far, the plan is working and they've made incremental progress each year since dumping ROR and Tarasenko. They should stick with it until they're serious contenders.

I think, I'm with you on this.

Where I'm worried is.
Our 20yo #10 pick, isn't expect to make the team. That isn't as good, as the teams a #20oa, and a #26oa, found a spot on at 19.
Smaller ice and all, there might a problem with our future, wanting to bring in a guy for 4-5years. If even possible.

I understand getting out of a re-tool, build, fresh, whatever, after the offer sheets. But to do what. Get a vet and Hope.
If we are Not going to Get a Top Second Line Center. We should start the advancement of our(hopefully) next second line center.

With the next cores leadership heading towards that time, and our next young core already getting time. Might as well Hope with a eye on the future, and a grasp on the deadline cap.
He is a top 10, 20yr old with a brain.

For me. To much depends on goaltending, to not be in a position for a deadline dump and a end of the season tank.
A top pick in next year's draft could immediately change the game for us and worth not having a winning, but still a loser mentality.

Army holds his cards too close. He's not going to tell us his plans for the summer when they are still playing for the Cup. If he says not much is happening that most likely means he's working on something.

Yep, just like last year before he performed the steal of the century from Edmonton.

The Carne Asada and Pollo Asada from the meat dept at Fresh Thyme is money. I have to try the new El Morelia grocery store in Bridgeton. They have a full carneceria in it. I need an outdoor flattop griddle for real.

This is pretty much where my head's at - if we can't get a top notch 2C, just wait for internal options to develop. No point in signing a Bozak-esque player to 6 x 6 and throwing off the young pipeline.

Their breakfast burrito was huge! And did not taste too bad. We nicknamed it the diaper load!

Any Nacho Mama fans here?

What's funny....when we do a dinner there....it's not exactly a total Mexican fair ...we get the whole smoked chicken dinner BUT always double up on their tex beans and pass on the rice.
