I am a big Tim Robinson fan, so I wanted to see this. However, I hadn’t read anything about. I wasn’t expecting it to be so uncomfortable, and maybe a bit more lighthearted.
If you’re a fan of Detroiters and I Think You Should Leave, a lot of the dialogue and plot points are clearly call outs to both shows.
It’s certainly funny at times. But it’s also one of those movies where you just keep shaking your head and asking, why are you doing this? Why did you say that?
Enjoyable overall, but not as enjoyable as I thought it would be.

Re: Friendship
Film definitely felt like an extended "I Think You Should Leave" sketch. Heavy on the absurdity and the cringe and I did laugh out loud a few times. The odd thing is that the writer/director of this movie does not appear to have worked with Tim Robinson before. I would have thought they would have been writing partners seeing how the type of "comedy" in this one felt like it belonged in Robinson's prior work.DJ Davis wrote: ↑23 May 2025 18:05 pm I am a big Tim Robinson fan, so I wanted to see this. From the trailer I get 'The Cable Guy' feel.
