I understand it fully. If ball goes out of play on a throw or etc, runners advance one base. Arenado essentially ran out of play with the ball as he full fell in bleachers

As an umpire at the High School level, I know that to be called "Catch and Carry" on the Arenado play.
It commonly comes up on fields where the boundary is imaginary down the lines. Its exactly the same ruling. If you catch and then run past the boundary, then runners on base get to move up 1. Good thing Carrol didn't move the runners up before that happened.
