The thing I like about him is that he never seems to give up. You know he's a hard worker the way he improved his defense. He's looked overmatched at times, but he apparently hasn't let it get to him. I'm not counting him out yet.
He has a great head in his shoulders. He went from a kid most of us never wanted to see in the OF again to one that we are all pretty confident in when he’s out there
No question he works hard and clearly has the ability and mindset to improve when he does so. Gives some hope for his offense. Consistency with Brant Brown could pay off huge. At one point I considered him to be bust proof and while I’m now backing off a bit on that I do think he can still figure it out
Still just 23.
Nice comments. He might be a sparkling addition to a pretty good team.
People were wondering if Brandt was getting thru to Walker. Reports were strides were being made in cage , practice the past month but had not shown in games. Then in last two weeks, it started to show..slow but some key hits for RBI.
He is improving..yes more patience but think we all can see it.
Wait til he launched a few..OMG he may hit a few in Nig MSc Lsnd way back.

Hero, goat, hero again all in one game.
As for the ball that scooted by thr LF to wall, that’s the 2nd time I remember a ball doing that. He hits it with such velocity his balls get there in a hurry compared to other hitters.
He had better chance than most to get it by the fielder.
No...Gurriel is a bad OFer.
He is but that ball was smoked.
Easily playable...Gurriel wet himself on that ball. He should be embarrassed
He could have taken a little better route, he was diving/sliding after it to try to keep it from going to the wall. And didn’t come up with it. It wasn’t “easily” playable but a more athletic LF might have gotten to it. Most LFers aren’t athletic though.

Patience will pay huge dividends with Walker.
Did I hear 117 MPH off the bat on his double?
What you didn't hear was how poorly Gurriel misplayed it
He didn't misplay it...it was a 113 shot into the gap. Gurriel dove to try and stop it, but only got a piece of it.
That ball was legitimately crushed!

I know that he had a critical misplay today in the field but overall I like his progress in RF.
His plate discipline has been shaky.
Much better of late which is encouraging.
As long as he’s not blocking anyone let him play.
Especially against LH SP’s.
Fingers crossed!
He tried to make the hero play. It wasn't particularly smart in that situation, but we've seen him make that play several times this year.

And his arm in RF is a legit weapon!
Do or die play and he died!
I still like his overall defensive progress to date.

Absolutely! I do too! He's become a good Right Fielder. That play was more of a mental than physical mistake.
But....
It didn't get him down! He bounced back with the game winning hit!

He did which is a positive sign of maturity.
He committed and got caught in no man’s land. It happens and hopefully he learns.
Of course I know zero about what Walker is working on.
First year with Brown as coach. Will it pay off???

I wouldn't...he had some success and looked on his way...then has struggled...learned a new position while struggling at the plate...has gotten better in rf...he just needs a little hot streak to get some confidence going and he could take off...

Agreed, hopefully this kind of a day helps propel him with the bat.
As bad as he’s hitting, he’s got 20 RBI in 156 PA, that’s a pretty good amount for that kind of PAs. Expanded for 600 PAs you’re talking about 80 RBI.

New entry into the worst yet unintentional typo ever.
