They have the depth to withstand losing any of those names and Skenes is a 22 year old ace.

I don't have access to BTV anymore but I think any package would have to start with Wetherholt + Hence + Walker/Gorman. Not sure if I would go much of significance after that, except for maybe one of Crooks/Bernal/Rodriguez.
Yea, I was thinking that about Mathews, too.

Looking at the trade boards, it looks like Skenes BTV is 94.8.

And some names

Gorman 10.6
Crooks 12.2
Wetherholt 41.3
Hence 10.2
Walker 0 (as of 5/17)
Saggese 15.4
Burleson 9.6
Mathews 27.6

So obviously it would have to be centered around Wetherholt.
Of course feel free to toss in Burleson... please lord include him
If Burly goes then Shady has to go with him

Talking about the possibility of the Pirates trading Paul Skenes this summer. I don’t think it’d happen, but it is interesting to think about.

Walker/Wetherholt
Mathews
Gorman
Hence/Rainiel Rodriguez

Is it feasible that we might be in a position to be a player? He’s so young still and the idea of him, Gray, and Libby come playoff time would look really great.
They'd hang up immediately. Matthews just got hurt. Gorman is a huge ? Hence is injury-riddled. Rodriguez too far away. Walker another huge ? But JJ, they'd probably want.

More like

Herrera (gotta trade a budding star in a package to get a superstar)/JJ
McGreevy
Saggese
Bernal/Crooks

Bottom line: They would ask far too much for BDW's liking. And he'd have to pay Skenes a fortune to keep him. Not in the Cards so to speak.

Less than zero chance with that offer. Even if you included all 6

I’d probably push for JJ and someone over Saggese but that would be a package I’d do. Would be a lot less high end ceiling talent than my OP.

No way would I pkg all the top prospects for a pitcher that they won't be able to retain. The Cardinals will not pony up and give big contracts to Skenes, when you also have the likes of Liberatore, Herrera, Winn, McGreevy, Scott, Donovan all in line for contracts.

I saw this too and they had him going to the scrubbies who they claim had the best haul of prospects to offer. :x

The Cardinals offer would start with:

Hererra
JJW
QM
ect.............

But here's the real problem:

As soon as he hit free agency, he's GONE!

BDWJr would never, ever, ever pay what he's going to command on the open market.
