Well you have doomed oli and the cardinals to suck then because you and Mel are wrong so much that if either of you predict something its pretty much guaranteed the exact opposite will happen. And dont forget you were the biggest hater of oli of anyone
God it's going to be FUNNY when Marmol wins Manager of the Year

Well he trashed contreras then he started hitting he trashed fedde calling everyone out about him and Fedde came back and threw a complete game shut out trashed gray and he started pitching well then trashed oli then the team started winning now hes calling for Oli to be manager of the year so expect the cardinals to tank nowrenostl wrote: ↑14 May 2025 12:49 pmSo if they are opposite sides?Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑14 May 2025 12:44 pmWell you have doomed oli and the cardinals to suck then because you and Mel are wrong so much that if either of you predict something its pretty much guaranteed the exact opposite will happen

Not sure I agree with all of that.3dender wrote: ↑14 May 2025 09:28 amHe has a roster this year that is harder to mismanage. Still not getting Walker+Gorman all that much PT in their "runway" year though, and needed Siani taken away from him for his own good.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑14 May 2025 09:21 am The Oli hate on here is cartoonish. The truth is, he's okay. Not great. Not terrible. Just okay.
Last year's bullpen was pretty stout. You had Kittredge, Romero was coming off a solid year, and Helsley was just lights out. This year--knock on wood--the bullpen has been mostly okay, but I think easier to mismanage. Fernandez fell off a cliff, Kitt's gone, Hels seems shaky. Maton and Leahy have been consistently good, but it's also been more of a rotating cast.
The line-up has been mostly the same, the biggest difference being that Scott is now in CF, Contreras moves from C to 1B, and Herrera at least started as the C.
Walker's been in 30 games, which seems about right. Not the most he could've played, but certainly more than Gorman has--by about a week. And the Walker situation is very much a danged if you do, danged if you don't situation. If you play him on a consistent basis, and he scuffles, you look bad. If you don't play him enough, and he scuffles, then you're not playing him enough to bust out. The only clear win for the manager there is if you start him and he takes off like Scott or Herrera has. Which clearly hasn't happened. Gorman's in the same boat.
I find most of the roster faults to be on Mo and Co. Didn't create adequate runway to let guys like McGreevy and Saggese get up here and perform. And as easy as it is for us to say to just can Mikolas, much as I agree, we need to be reasonable. That never was going to happen, even though it should've.

Next thing we will read is that Oli had closed door meeting with players bashing them for losing the opener and lessening his chances for MOY .Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑14 May 2025 12:51 pmWell he trashed contreras then he started hitting he trashed fedde calling everyone out about him and Fedde came back and threw a complete game shut out trashed gray and he started pitching well then trashed oli then the team started winning now hes calling for Oli to be manager of the year so expect the cardinals to tank nowrenostl wrote: ↑14 May 2025 12:49 pmSo if they are opposite sides?Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑14 May 2025 12:44 pmWell you have doomed oli and the cardinals to suck then because you and Mel are wrong so much that if either of you predict something its pretty much guaranteed the exact opposite will happen

So for the nightcap , he is making major changes in the lineup . He is giving Walker a rest for the 2nd game since he had a RBI in the opener . Figures he is spent after that game.

What would be funny is if Bloom comes out at the end of the season and says Oli's our guy.

The manager of the year doesn't know when it's time to take out his starter. Gray is getting pounded while Oli sleeps.

I was going to say I’m not a fan. Cards can do better. Since Cards fire winning managers I’ll get my way if he wins.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑14 May 2025 09:04 am He should probably not want the award, it should be considered a cursed award.
2024: Pat Murphy, Brewers (2025: 20-23 so far)
2023: Skip Schumaker, Marlins (2024: 62-100, mutually parted ways after 2024)
2022: Buck Showalter, Mets (2023: 75-87, fired after 2023 season)
2021: Gabe Kapler, Giants (2022: 81-81, fired during 2023 season)
2020: Don Mattingly, Marlins (2021: 67-95, fired after 2022 season)
2019: Mike Shildt, Cardinals (2020: 30-28, fired after 2021 season)
So last 5 NL MOY’s prior to Murphy were fired within 2 seasons of winning the award. And the only following season that was a “winning” season was Shildt, which was 2020.

I have been hating, and still feel like this is a fluke. I will gladly accept a public shaming if it means the Cardinals are successful this year. I have been wrong about Lars (so far this year), hopefully he can continue his success for a full season.
