He swings at and misses breaking balls a foot off the plate, and he lets fast balls down the middle go by without even starting a swing.
As long as he can't pick out a ball from a strike, he ain't gonna hit much.
This. Complain all you want about launch angles and coaches. I was very high on him (hardly alone) and I'm stunned that his recognition is that bad.

His line is now at .186 .260 .254, with an OPS at .514.

I know that this is a year in which we are letting guys work through stuff at the major league level, but at what point does this become too demoralizing for Jordan and letting him work through it is just hurting him? 8th worst wRC+ in the majors among qualified hitters.

I think they gotta be having that conversation at this point.

IMO, he's in his own head, and that's a terrible place to be.

For you golfers out there, you know what I mean. When the game is going bad, you got too much going through your head, most of it negative, you're stiff with the club in your hand, and afraid to trust what you were doing when things were good.

I don't think he needs AAA. He needs to be in Fla with a professional hitting instructor. Someone who knows what they're doing, and have done it. I'll bet you 2 weeks with George Brett would straighten him out. He's beyond what a minor league instructional coach can do. He needs the big guns. If I were running the show, that's what I'd do. Find a professional hitter to work with him. He's got too much potential talent to give up on.

Mentioning have Jordan work with a George Brett to ‘fix’ him reminds me of something Stan Musial said years ago.
A young player struggling wad in batting cage and noticed the retired Musial watching from behind the cage.
Kid said ‘ Hey Stan, watch me swing and a few and tell me what I am doing wrong.
Stan replied, ‘ I can tell you what you are doing wrong but I won’t be able to tell you how to fix it.’

Always stuck with me by one of the greatest bay to ball hitters in history of game.
Just because a guy can see flaws doesn’t mean he can fix the flaw.

Dead on. He's shown no signs of improving AND they are giving away 4 ABs each time he starts. I really like him and hope he turns it around but it's not going to happen in the Majors.

Play him against lefties for 2 weeks, and then decide.

No need to rock the boat.

He will still swing at (bleep) out of strike zone
He can’t recognize spin on pitches
